Looking for selling advice

I'm pretty sure I'm going to sell my typhoon. With young children and family obligations - I've finally accepted that I'm just not going to have the time I need to make it how I want.

My blk/blk 93 Ty is 99% original (after market radio, but still have the old one in my garage for some reason), 145k miles, 2nd owner. I had the x-fer case rebuilt a couple years ago, the tranny rebuilt as well (my father in law decided to break it again), front differential rebuilt, new A/C components retrofitted to r134a (replaced everything but the inside evaporator), new motor mounts, tires have a lot of tread but are starting to crack on the sides a little from sitting.100% of its life in California.

Overall it's always been a nice reliable clean ride. The tranny is shot again (sun shell I presume is cracked), the paint is how 93 Ty paint should look - some elbow grease and it would shine but we all know it just needs to be redone, leather is good, driver seat shows rub marks from the wallets - no tears or cracks, the window tint from 93 is bubbling on the back glass which needs to be removed or replaced.

Bottom line is I would say it's in fair to good condition, with a tranny that needs some more work.

So what to do? I can put $1000 and get $7k for a trade-in from a dealer (looking at getting a commuter), So I'm thinking of selling as-is for $6k so atleast someone who loves the trucks would get one to tinker(slave) on. KBB numbers look like all over the place. I could detail the paint, put some new tint on, fix the tranny and be left with a solid running truck, and maybe sell for $10k?

Whats the market? Is $6k too low/high?

Thanks all - you're the experts.

Yeah, I agree...condition and economy rule. I would better my colleague though and go $4,500 - 5,000 cash.

So, what I'm gathering is that I'm near where it should be to sell it, BUT would probably make more money to clean it up and sell it to some nitwit.

Maybe my brother in law should package his syclone (great enginge, tranny) with the Ty for a package so someone can piece them together and have a road warrior. :))

The market is down for these truck. High mileage truck that need work aren't that desirable. The $4-5K range is probably reasonable offers. If you fix everything your not going to get $10k or even $8k with the market.
