Sure they could get a driveshaft loop. You move it back toward the back. Look at that as a blank canvas. Do what you need in there. The more lofty you make the project, the less likely it will be back on the road any time soon.

I agree 10 might not sell , but I will look into something for my own truck . My wifes father is close to retiring from welding his whole life and if I could get some tubing with 4 identical flanges to him, I know he'd fab it up for me .

Where its positioned a drive shaft loop really couldnt be incorporated with it .No more than the bolt on version already being made anyways. It deff wouldnt need to be modified for a 3" exhaust since the bulky stock piece allows enough room already and the aftermarket exhausts for our trucks dont have provisions for the cat bracket and I doubt anyone thats doing the 80e has a stock exhaust still in place .

I'll worry about it after my truck is up and running , but for now i do know that the stock piece will not be returning . I just finished getting my garage ready for the teardown/inspection . Sunday it begins .

I don't get why people think that part of the x member is so awful? I like it being there because when I do my t-case alone, I can break it loose, and it has something to sit on while fluid drains out and I am ready to bring it down.

It never crossed my mind the thought of moving it back to add the loop ,that might not be a bad idea . Dont worry , this isnt going to push my driving back any furthur . I'll be driving around long before i get back to this item .

Thanks again for getting my parts install ready . If I hadnt known , I would've thought the tci harness came that way . Theres a high of 90* today , my plan is to have the 80e out and the tci stuff back in . I'll let you know if i have any hiccups .

My stuff isnt where your stuff is under the truck . The 80 pushes everything back 3.5 inches and that member is the only item in my way from removing my case . I f'd around trying to muscle it out for almost an hour but my truck won that fight .

I tried to make those harnesses as nice as possible. The cleaner the harness, the less likely something will go wrong. Now on mine, I just have a 2x3 bar going across so the loop could come up off of it. If I had to do all over again, I would just have notched the plate.

Re: Lost 14 pounds , keep it off or put it back ?

Sadly i didnt get what I wanted done today . I couldnt get to the last engine block/tranny bolt , all the ss hoses and crap on the driver side held me up . With the removal off my upper w/a i/c to get at the pass side ive come to the conclusion that my truck would rather have a/a . I spent my time today removing all my w/a stuff and while i was in there , the a/c stuff came out too . The a/c delete housing i bought last week should be here any day now , so that stuff was being removed soon anyways . It seems like everytime i want to do one thing to my truck , I have to remove 3 other things to get the 1 out .

I feel bad for anyone that works on syty's everyday , I wouldnt have the patience ..
