Steve,

I should have a few stock regulators laying around, stop by and pick one up if you want.

Usually when the regualtor goes, it leak fuel into the vacuum lines. I would guess its going to be time for a new fuel pump.

I think so. And we checked them last night...bone dry...as were the old ones that I took out last week. Not even the wiff of gas.

We especially checked for gas leaks when it was running 10psi at WOT last night. Nothing...bone dry everywhere.

Thanks Dave E...got any Walbros lyin' around?

Heh....I was actually talking to the "other" Dave...he's local to me. I'm gonna need one in a hurry 'cause it looks like I might be driving the truck down.

We'll see. You know how these trucks are.

I'll post updates...

I've done a pump in a few hours.. it isn't easy but it can be done..

if I were you i'd see if you can get a new sending unit while you are at it and some high pressure fuel hose just to have on hand just incase..

this way, you can at least cut out the older rusty lines, should also make it easier to get the fittings off of each other..

If they are not rusty, spray them good with some pb blaster then hit them with the box wrenches.. if you have any questions you can call my cell, i'll be around working on my truck all weekend. If you don't have my cell, pm me.

Steve truck is super clean, I bet it won't need a new sending unit or have any rust issues. I didn't use anything my truck and it came right off.

lucky ****ers.. both of my trucks were rusty :(

Derek's truck wasn't too bad, but i still needed to "rig" one of the lines because the fittings wouldn't budge.

Wow...thanks. I'll email you.

Thanks Eric...not something I wanna mess with frankly. Got a few resources to help and this will be replaced by next thursday. Whether or not it cures the problem will determine whether I make the trip. Both trailer and cab are not looking good, so the Ty must be running perfect to make the trip.

Re: Lots done...UPDATE!!

I should've known this from the two years of hard starts...but the culprit was....

FUEL PUMP!!

The Bitch is Back!! :woot: I forgot how fun these trucks are after all!

A few thank you's:

Jeff (Ziembic)
Big Mike (and Keith)
Dave E. (1BADV6) for the loaner Walbro

Everyone who made suggestions/offers on this thread.

See you all down at NATS where we will party it up!

Re: Lots done...UPDATE!!

so are you driving it or towing it?

Driving it. :( Both trailer and rig deals fell through on the same day.

I'll be putting tape or a film on the front to prevent rock chips...and i'll hook up with a caravan sometime Thurs morning.

Re: Lots done...UPDATE!!

sweet! driving > towing. You'd get nuts worrying about it on the trailer anyway, knowing you

painters masking tape works well and doesn't leave a sticky residue
