What ever it takes!!
Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

Damn that intake is gunna stick out high out the hood...Im not even sure a 4" cowl would work.
How much longer you got to go??

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

I can tell you this the harwood hood I bought fit like crap, might as well just cut a big ass hole in the stock hood needs 12 of trimming in the back, the gaps are terrible, cost 518 bucks and I picked it up!!!
the pan looks like the best I've seen, as long as the oil lines work out.

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

I think they are 12" or damn close.

Rear sits too high - will address when I do a new 12 bolt. Considering running a spool and 35 spline axles. I know it will not be fun in a parking lot but concerned about a posi setup's ability to stay intact.

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

Would the holley mid rise base allow it to clear the hood, versus the high rise?

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

I doubt it, I've seen holley on an s10 with a 4" hood and it barely cleared. it was 2wd and the engine sits lower on a 2wd

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

Not certain if it would fit but I wouldn't run that intake on this combination. I'm not an engine builder but from what I know it would probably not be optimal.

Also, I kind of like the way it looks so I'm sticking with it lol :)

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

Posted in lounge but I'll ask here too:

For the guys with 4L80 transmissions, what cable bracket and lever did you guys use for your stock shifter cable?

Thanks in advance

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

Stock pan bracket, stock cable works but I used a Renz HD cable and a flattened shifter lever. The shift select pin needs to be shortened and you need to use epoxy on the connector. I wrote a big install thread...

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

Well, getting closer. It's heading next weekend out to be wired and plumbed which is a good thing as this project has been a fairly big one (I am tired of working on it lol). Finished some odds and ends on it - welded a sch 40 45 degree aluminum pipe on the t stat cover to get is away from the crossover tube and point it to the radiator and put most of the interior in it except carpet to have things routed. Changed my fueling system idea - was going to run an aeromotive eliminator pump but switching to a Weldon 2025 with a step down box. Toyed with the idea of running e85, but this truck will probably be running pump/c16 with methanol injection. I also need to mock up the trans crossmember/driveshaft loop before it goes out next weekend.

When it gets back, I will have to get the new rear in it and install spring perches. Went with a 35 spline 12 bolt from moser with a spool. Other odds and ends need to be taken care of as well, but I'll worry about them when it all gets back. Looking forward to tuning it with the new holley dominator system...I have never used it before and have never tuned much anything with an electronically controlled transmission. Should be interesting!

Project looks awesome, I can't wait to see finished pics and some videos:)

I do want to let you know if you're using the dominator you can use that to run it your fuel pump with pwm, basically it will eliminate having to buy and wire it in a separate controller. All you will need is a solid state relay, wire that in to one of the outputs. Use it on the ground side of the pump will help things survive longer also.

Good luck with the project :D

Wirin delayed a week due to scheduling so I made this today out of old roll cage tubing I didn't use and a mail order loop piece.

I never knew that about the Holley box! I guess I'll try the weldon controller (just to eliminate another tuning variable) and maybe try to eliminate in the future.

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

Yeah the holley ecm is great and has a ton of features. I will be using it to power my weldon pump and taurus cooling fan with pwm. That way it can speed up and slow them down so it's not putting such a load on the system.
If you go on yellowbullet.com you can find some info on doing this. I'm using 2 hella ssr's for the pump and a corvette fan module for the cooling fan, it's basically a fancy ssr. I think 2 relays for the pump is overkill but I would rather that than burn one up!
Once you get used to the holley software it's really easy to set all of it up, I tested the fan module a couple weeks ago and it worked great, just like a new car!

Good luck with the project and keep up the good work :D

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

Little update - truck should be back from wiring/plumbing in couple of weeks. From there it's all the little odds and ends line hooking up the hydro boost, running water lines for intercooler, dipsticks for engine and transmission, etc. also need to have driveshafts made for both front and rear. Also need to weld on spring perches on the 12 bolt before it goes in.

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

Also need a little clarification on the shifter cable setup. The stock pan bracket does not work. Has anybody used a 4l80 pan bracket, stock cable, and a 4l80 shifter arm? Thanks,

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

I used a renz cable, Camaro 4l80e swap trans cable bracket and a short shift arm shaft.

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

Thanks - where did you souce the camaro bracket and the short arm shaft? I am assuming the stock cable would work with these.
