Nice work. That turbo is so big. It makes the engine look small.

Re: LS Swap Syclone Single Turbo Build

My good friend Brian Tooley is designing a camshaft to help me with the lag it will have on the street.

I have a transbrake setup for the track to spool it up.

Welds do look good... Just wondering if your back purging and handling all the sugaring going on inside of the pipes keeping them smooth ?

Also I am looking at your setup do you have any type of stress relief for the pass. manifold for the large turbo? thinking like a stainless rod with some type of eyelet holes (like 4.3l water pump toac bracket) to grab a few points or maby even something triangular to support that turbo and prevent a crack.

Most of the thin walled parts of the system system is back purged. The headers are sch10 stainless so it's not "as" critical although I did start doing it.

The turbo will be supported by one or two braces that will come off the engine block.

I will share anything I have learned on this project. The biggest issue with the entire system is space constraints. This was a big turbo for this build - I think twins would have been easier but I really wanted a big single for whatever reason. I can actually go with a 98mm wheel if I ever need it, but I will have to explore my options with transfer case/front differential.

Also - I had to cut the sh!t out of the firewall to get that 5 inch downpipe to fit. You really don't realize just how little room there is until you start trying to fit everything up. I'm going to have to build the firewall and floor section I cut out to clear the downpipe which when looking inside the truck protrudes in where the passengers feet would sit. I'm lucky to have a friend that is good at forming sheet metal I'm probably going to ask for his assistance in that haha. Of course get some heat shield from a place like vibrant as well.

I wondered how you put that huge dp inside the inner fenders and frame rails!!!

Radiator mounted. The intercooler will be an integrated unit 417 Motorsports is producing for the holley hi ram. Unfortunately it is going to be very tall but we will figure something out.
