LS1 GN Swap

Not sy/ty related but thought some might like to see what I'm doing. Just picked this GN up on craigslist. I have a complete F-body drivetrain laying around...so I'm doing the swap I'll keep you guys posted on the progress. I'm new to the sy stuff so I'm just going to learn as much as I can about them while the GN project takes place. Then I'll start the REAL work on the sy.

I am selling my 1987 Buick Grand National roller. This car does not have and engine, tranny, or engine wiring harness. Would be great for a turbo LS swap. I purchased the car about a year ago. I started from the ground up replacing all the old parts with new. I have all the receipts need for all warranties.
New steering from outer tie rod to outer tie rod. (All Lifetime warranty Moog Parts)
Brakes front and rear (Only used Wagner Lifetime warranty parts including pads, shoes, rotors, drums, wheel cylinders, etc.)
Moog rear coil springs
Metco adjustable upper control arms
A/C blower motor
New headliner from G-body Parts
New rear seat side upholstery from G-Body Parts
Factory rearend was gone through with new bearings and seals and filled with Royal Purple Oil.

This car has vacuum brakes, 20" Boss 338's with great tread and 3" exhaust.
I'll have to check on the mileage.

Nice looking car! A turbo LS would be great.. But if you just get the Swap done for now and turbo it later that'd be alright too...

Great deal you found!
Good luck with the project.. should be fun

Yeah I'm pretty excited. May do a turbo later, but like you said just get the swap done for now. I'll post picks of the progress.

Drop an ls1 in there to make everyones GN worth more ;)

Nice looking though.

The purists always have to come in and leave some idiot comment.

Good job saving a GN. Forget what the opposition says.. You'll be happy with the swap.

Re: LS1 GN Swap

You mean comments like this:

Nice monte, should swap out that v6 for a 350 though.

or even better, Nice looking s10, i dropped a 350 in mine!

Can't have a few laughs on here apparently. Say that comment on a GN forum and you would get at least a few laughs.

Actual pics of the GN. Hopefully it sits lower with engine and trans in like the internet pics.

Looks like a sweet project. I'd stuff some air down its throat, but at least get her going and then upgrade when it is convenient.

Conversion kit came today. Now I'm just waiting on the Hummer H3 oil pan kit to come in so I can drop the engine in her.

Looks like a sweet project  I'm not always a fan of swapping out powerplants on rare vehicles but if it's a step forward in technology I'm all for it!! I love muscle cars with modern suspenion and powerplants
