ls1 kenne bell project finally making progress

Re: ls1 kenne bell project finally making progress

Nice. Any pics of the oil pan/diff clearance? Maybe I missed it but what headers did you use?

Re: ls1 kenne bell project finally making progress

Sanderson 4x4 ls1 headers into s10
Diff and oil pan clearance was about 1/2"

Need to upgrade rear end and front diff. Anyone got any info??

Congrats ... looks like you picked up 90hp , but lost 122 tq vs your old v6 setup.

Immediate power with the blower though :) ---

You can run a cast iron front diff if you're looking for strength (rare and only used in 95 manual dimes and blazers; I've sold a few over the years). I also have a fullsize 8.25 front diff in my S10, one of two trucks in the world (mine and a guy that worked for GM). That said, I doubt it will fit your application with only 1/2" of clearance you currently have. The front diff project took me a lot of one off fab work to make it fit and the CVs took a lot of work (fullsize C/K truck).

Lots of options for a rear exist.

Looks awesome! If I could give you a piece of advice though. Get rid of that stock propshaft. They are ticking timebombs, or at least put a loop on it. When it breaks it will wipe out everything under there including the bellhousing.:2cents:

cool project, nice results..i wouldnt worry about your front diff too much,I have over 15k miles on my stock 100k unit with zero problems, the only maintenance I usually have to do is a drivers side CV axle once a year

I beefed up my transfer case but I also went built 4L80e so I bought the 32 spline billet input shaft and billet planatary for the tcase from rpm. Just fyi, Sportmachines and Gilbert Driveline both make badass hd propshafts as well. I went with Gilbert cause Sportmachines wasn't available yet. I've beat the piss out of it at the track with drag radials and no probs so far. 720+hp/800+ftlbs.

my t case is stock, which is funny cause I stumbled upon one of my original posts from my build and a lot of people said that it would never last:rotf:so much for that, after countless 800rwhp highway passes and at least 50 1/4 mile passes still going strong

I will look into sports machines and Gilbert

We put truck on jack stands and gave it some power. I could stop the front tire with my hand. Which makes me assume t case is bad. I also had a noise coming from front diff rear only had one wheel peel lol

Remember that it's an open front diff. There is a test you can do to test the vc in the tcase.

I am new to this axle gear transfer case stuff. A open diff means only one wheel spins until it slips correct? But I still shouldn't be able to stop it under power should I?
