Lt1 Nitrous Plate on a SyTy?

I've got an LT1 TB plate kit, and it looks as though it could work on my 92 Ty, which would seem to avoid the problem of spraying a nozzle through the IC, AND wouldn't require a DP....

Anyone tried this? I think I'm going too later this month...

distribution with that plate is not good, but yes it will bolt up.

You going to spray NOS or use this for Meth? If you are going to try this for meth injection it wont work, not enough pressure to atomize properly and will just kind squirt out. Even though most meth systems are running 80+ psi, NOS nozzel's are set up for 900 + PSI tank pressure. For NOS, should be ok I think.

Wouldnt spacing the throttle body out mess up the tv cable geometry?

I don't think it would mess up any of the cable, will have to check it out. Won't be using it for Meth...

This has been discussed before.

I saw that thread, but it seemed to be based more around using the plate for meth, and I was asking about using it for NO2

Shouldn't be a problem for NOS use. Just remember that boost magnifies NOS. I.E. 25 shot with boost is more like 35-40. Use the smallest jets you can get and go in 5hp steps, no joke. It can be done and with good results but the old "this 25 shot is ok so lets bump it to 50" will get you a broken engine before you can pull your foot out of it. Check your data logs ultra close and pull the plugs after EVERY run. Don't even try it unless you have full gauges specially WB and fuel, EGT is highly recommended. Just go real slow and careful. We run it on top of the blowers and it does have the Dr. J and Mr. Hyde ups and downs but DAAAYYYMMM when it’s right!

Good luck!

James,

Thanks for the advice, I went that VERY route with the NO2 kit I have on my GN. Started off with a 25 shot, and have since worked my way up to a 50. I ran it rich for awhile, and ATE plugs like candy....but the motor is still going strong, and I finally have it LOVING the kit. Its nice to not have to stall as hard on the line, holding down the temps, and using the kit to still spool it immediately out of the gate :). I'm gonna try running stock converter, with a small shot first....Figure its worth a shot ;)
