Lucas Pure Synthetic?

Anyone use this product added into their oil for their SyTy. If we're already running synthetic oil in our trucks, then could this be an added bonus in the oil. Or is it overkill? Pros and cons??

Re: Lucas Pure Synthetic?

Are you talking about the oil stabilizer? If so I substitute 1 quart of oil for the synthetic stabilizer in every vehicle I have ever owned since I was 16, my dad has used it for years. I don't know about boosted applications as I have not done an oil change yet but I plan to do the same with it. I can say that the motor in an old S-10 I had smoked a little on start up until I started using the Lucas. Don't know if it was a miracle cure but it certainly helped.

Yep the Pure Syn oil stabilizer. That's what I'm referring to. Just trying to gettin some opinions on it.

Google it. Theres plenty of opinions, both good and bad, about it.

As far as I can tell, all it does is thicken your oil. Never heard of any oil needing to be stabilized. I wouldn't use it. If you need higher viscosity oil, buy higher viscosity oil. IIRC, its comparable to 140wt oil.

I used to run Mobil 1 5w30 in all my cars especially boosted and also use the synthetic stabilizer. I became good phone buddies with Dave @ RedLine racing oils. He told me, everyone waste their $$$$, when doing this as these compaines have already played Mr. Chemist long before us, and all the high end lubes should be left alone. Not gonna hurt anything but the wallet.
