Well a 14ft U-haul, tow dolly, Syclone swinging in the breeze, snow, 40mph cross winds and 14 hours drive time and its over.
Crappy drive across Interstate 40, especially through AZ. It snowed at Flagstaff and they were nice enough to salt the freaking roads. The cross wind had me fighting to keep from getting pushed off the right shoulder. All in all I'd never do that again, especially with the Sy on the tow dolly. Too much work and worry hoping it wouldnt fall off or flip over on the road. Unfortunately the military doesnt ship POVs state to state and I was kinda left to my own devices so I had to tow it behind the Uhaul.
When I was hooking the drive shaft back up I could see that the whole underside of the truck was covered in nice salt residue. Half a gallon of simple green, a garden sprayer, a pressure washer and a few hours later and she is once again salt free. Good news for me was that the underside of the body was rust free to include the cab and bed mounts, less work for the resto.
Best part is escaping Clovis New Mexico, 6 years I was stationed in that miserable place.
