You want to bash a shop.. Buddy of mine just got his S10 back from Mach performance in Mi.. He dropped it off over 2 years ago to get a 4.3L built and turbo kit installed. He is out big money.. like go buy a finished SYTY and forget about it and his truck is in peices no where near being ready to run.

Going to do damage control this weekend and i'll get some pictures etc. I guess its got eagle H beams, diamond pistons, stock crank, some vortec heads they did, stock fuel system.. no tunning, no plumbing done etc etc.. in peices.

They're still in business?

why try and save a set of vortec heads, unless they have a remarkable porting job it'd probably be cheaper to replace them

Wow looks like I stired up a hornets nest here. I'm just trying to find what shops and vendors are out and there web sites (if they have one) so I can get some more info as I learn and adjust to this new (to me) Rare performance vehicle...

your in Ga or Fl?
if your truck is in Ga...or Fl for that matter,you should become familure with Waller Performance(a.k.a. jwaller). John can hook you up with whatever you need from machine work to tuning. some of his builds are the fastest around. 1 example is jhacking. he is stupid fast on a GM production block & heads.( http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=55441 )
ask around about him.

By this point i'm not 100% sure what "in biz" is for them. Starting to feel like his truck was one of few project left lingering at his shop. I know i bought a set of ultra garbage ROL headgaskets off him that he claimed was so amazing only to have them let loose on a semi stock 4.3L with 6lbs of boost on a blower.

Reguardless the truck is a wreck, in peices, guys out of money.. Its like they were going all out big turbo, forged internals then just said oh.. crap no injectors, intake, pump(s)... nothing to support the truck even being turbo'ed. Now i'm sure they had some plans but they didn't agree with the money this guy could drop in the truck and even if it did they had the truck for almost 3 years

also in light of the cam problems etc with McCoy/Hitech i'll be taking the intake off tonight or tomorrow trying to see if my cam looks like its going to shit after 5-8 hours of run time.

Maybe I was just lucky? Dunno but I have been beating the piss out of my Ty for 7+ years,it's just a stock rebuild with forged pistons and an ATR cam, with 50#'s and and a PT54.

I never knock it,it's seen 25 psi plenty of times,and still runs like a cat on fire after all these years. :tup:

The other issue i have seen with his heads are they were never clearanced for 1.6 rockers in the pushrod galley. When we stuck the heads back on the pushrods were hitting on the galley and bowing. :rant:

Real nice! Of course i bought the motor with 1.6 rockers on it.

Like we said you need to do your homework and use a local shop that if you have a problem they are close to help.

Right now the Truck is in FL and I am in Iraq. But once i get back this summer it will be with me in GA (45min from Savannah). But going back to FL when ever i get leave till next april when I will be moving back to FL for good> Others have said alot about Waller Performance. Once I get back to GA in july I'll take the truck to him. I dont know crap about tuning one of thes trucks so I'll have him do my tuning for now.

if you are willing to travel to NC, I'd consider going to turbotime.. they know their sh*t and are very good at what they do.

I dont have aproblem traveling up there. but I will go check out Mike Hood before I go up there (he is closer i can drive over if i get out of work early).
