Re: Mecum $50k Syclone

Just for a little perspective, I used an online calculator to see how much the cost of a syclone in 1991 ($30,000) would be worth in 2013 (the closest date I could get). If one had invested $30,000 in the S&P 500 in 1991, it would be worth $260,000 in 2013. Of course, that would not be as fun, but it is a much better return on investment.

Not very much fun at 2,600 miles.

although, that's 10,000 track passes. Damn that thing is beat.

Syclone sticker was $25,500. My Syclone new actually sold for $16,900. Either way it still is horrible investment. The only way someone could have made decent money on Syclone as a collectible is if someone bought a mint low miles Syclone in the 2009-2012 time period. It probably was worth sub $20k at that point.

Either way, the more exposure and popular the more desirable they get. Every time I go to a car event, the drag strip or even to the car wash, people just flock to the Syclone. I had a Ty about 6 years ago and it was invisible to 99.5% of people.

Hammered at $220 from a phone bid. I wonder if the buyer will be pissed when he finds out the roof is crazed and the rt qtr has had paint work?

For 220 I'd want it to perfect. But it will always be "the last GNX" so that's where the value is.
