My friend and I, which have done everything one could possibly do to our trucks (and I mean everything), ran across a guy with a black Ty at the weekly car show on Saturday. I don't know if this guy was a total recluse or social failure, but he didn't want to have anything to do with us (I was wearing deodorant, honestly).
Anyways, we introduce ourselves and ask how the Ty's running, which is the best way to start because nobody's truck seems to ever be running right. :wink: He tells us that it's running like crap, sputtering, etc. I ask him what he's got done to it, he tells me that he did plugs and a new fuel pump. I asked if he got the FP from Checker, since the FP that Checker lists for a SyTy is incorrect (they'll give you a FP for a Suburban). I said that that might be the reason that it's not running right. He gets all offended like I'm trying to insult his automotive prowess and snaps back at me, "NO, they said it was for a TYPHOON dude."
I tried about three more times to explain the problem to him, but the guy wouldn't listen. We even offered to have a little wrench session and hook his truck up to Datamaster to get it ruunning well, but he shot that idea down, got in his truck, and drove away visibly annoyed.
Who friggen owns a Ty, has the audacity to show it off, but doesn't want to meet any other SyTy owners, or god forbid learn something about their truck? He told us that he's owned it for 3 years and had no interest in the truck, how it works, why it's special, nothing...WTF?!?! I just wanted to hit the guy.
