YES YES YES , your fine ... if they want to scrap it , just pay for it yourself ... seems like you care for it enough to go that route ( I was in that category ...I paid $3500 vs risking anyone taking my truck from me and my truck is mainly STOCK , you have a LOT of man hours in your truck ) ---

I dont see why it would cost $6000 to fix that if you did it yourself. You could fix that yourself very easily from what I can see. No frame damage right? S10 pannels and parts are all over the yards.

because the insurance company wont write a estimate to "fix it yourself" they have to take it to a shop

truck isnt a total loss, there is maybe 3500 in damage , frame is good, and cladding was saved thats the $$$$$ part they will write it for

add paint and its black so they can panel paint it probably come in right about 3k total

Heck no.......I'd just spray it myself....single stage black is easy to shoot! You would prolly have about $150 in paint supply's and you can get a nice spray gun for $50.:tup::2cents:

Yeah......I'm a cheap skate when it comes to single stage paint and went with the OMNI brand over at finish master. The sealer was more then the damn black paint....lol! I also went a little over budget and sprung for some more K36 primer ........it goes on well and sands easy.

k36 is nice im using ppg 3033 the fricking primer is 300 per gallon cladding paint was 400 for a quart (including catalist and reducer)

If they write it off then the title should be/will be stamped as salvage. If you fix it your self, then the title will remain good. I was rear ended in my jeep and the insurance company totaled it. I decided to keep it as a farm truck. They tried to discourage me from buying it back saying it was going to be expensive, take a long time ... blah blah. The adjuster said it would be a 1000 minimum blah blah. Well all told it was 250 bucks. The only downside is that you have to get the title stamped salvage by the state before the insurance company will pay you (at least my insurance company).

its a 92 they wont salvage the title because they pay for that, its a 18 year old truck it will go with a clear title, and besides unless theres motor damage that truck wont get totalled

I have American Family. If it does come down to totaling the truck I will probably just say no thanks I'll take care of it myself. I thought that this was something that insurance company calls the shots on period. This is where I came up with my numbers.

No, he won't have plating issues. He would retain the original title, and a salvage title wouldn't be issued.

Ah man, I promised not to post kills anymore. I did some racing too, had some nice ones with the new set up but why post?

So far I have only had the adjuster come out, no word yet on what the verdict will be. He wasn't sure but said was leaning towards total loss. He said he goes by 70%. So, hopefully he finds the truck worth a lot so I can get it on the road soon.
