When looking at sy/tys what is to many miles on one without have to do a lot of work on it if i bought it. Thanks for the help.

I guess it depends, a lot of it depneds on the previous owner driving habit and maintenace. You can find a worn out 50K mile SyTy or well taken care of 100K miler.

The front suspension is pretty much worn out at 75K miles.

The transmission if not service regulary is a crap shot, my Tranny started showing sign that its needs a rebuild near at 43K miles.

The motor if improperly tuned can last 10K miles or if well taken care of 150K+ miles.

SyTy need require more maintenance than regular vehicles and if your not willing to do that look elsewhere for a vehicle. A vehicle you buy, may need a lot of intial maintenace and repair due previous owner neglect even though it looks 'mint'.

my truck had 150k when i sold it. Had perfect datamaster runs, basically stock and ran a 14.0 in 1/4 mile. Everything as far as i know was original.
Still a very tite truck, also used no oil and no smoke at all. interior was a 9 out of 10

Thanks for the help guys. I am always willing to put time into the up keep of any vehicle. I love working on cars, so I would enjoy doing it.

Any other stuff i should look out for when i can start looking harder at them? Thanks again for the help guys.

33k here on Sy, motor replaced in '94. Hope nothing else has to be replaced anytime soon. Start up the one you are looking at when its dead ass cold. Listen for any out of the ordinary noises, and have a friend stang at the tail pipe. If you can find someone in your area with a datamaster program and hope they will let you use it.
