Motor Mounts or Torque Converter

Well I'm on TC #2. It's been about 18 mohths and I'm experiencing hard vibration at just above 40mph on low acceleration. I think it's the TC gong bad again.(Same symptoms last time. New one seemed to fix it for a while.) Took the truck to ANOTHER local shop and the guy said the Driver side motor mount is bad and that is causing the problem.

I can not see how the motor mount would cause a LOW accleration problem ONLY at one point of speed. Does this guy have anything? Maybe the broken motor mount CAUSED my TC to fail again? B&M 2400 holeshot.

Bad motor mount shouldn't do it. I just replaced both mounts on my Ty and they were real bad...had no vibration at all. I've ridden in other SyTy's with bad motor mounts and no vibrations.

Sounds like a bad TC to me.

Kinda sounds like your TC bolts are loose............. or the fluid needs change and everything tightened up............... I don't think a bad mount would do that, because it sounds more like an RPM/speed thing than a torque one, unless your engine is bouncing around the eng. bay.
I would change the fluid and filter (if it's been awhile for the filter, cheaper), check the bolts, tighten up the TV cable to a firm shift and see what happens before taking it in. Could be a weight thrown off the drive shaft/wheels too......check those for a clean place where a weight would have been.

Are saying the tranny fluid and filter? I actually this done at the same time the TC was installed about 18 months ago. I did mess with the TV cable a little and it did help a little, but it seemed to mask the problem not fix it. I also did tighten up some of the bolts on the TC that came loose about 2 months ago. This caused a different problem that the tightening fixed up.

I had a bad vibration at 40 mph too and it would get much worst if i keep on acceleratin also. It wasent a motor mount or a TC, it was a bent prop shaft.
I also had a very messed up front diferential so i replaced the whole front wheel drive and its gone.
Thanks to Servando, he let me have a couple front diferentials and a bunch more stuff he had .
