I got a second wind recently to get the TY going. It's not so much that I lost any drive for it, just more or less ran out of money. Busy season came up for me and I was put in a position this winter, towards the end, where I didn't make much. Money is flowing again thankfully, and I have started up again. Here is some progress I made.
Ordered a sumped tank from Tom Ferrick, had it boiled and cleaned and added a 1/2" fitting instead of the 3/8" to accommodate the -12 fitting. Undercoated it as well.
Here is my modified sending unit, cut all the tubes off and soldered everything.
Tank installed, yes I know about the wire hanging down.
Trans lines waiting to be hooked up to the new radiator I haven't bought yet:lol: Also you can see the union for the sending unit port.
Turbo oil drain line
As you can plainly see, my interior is still a wreck and looks like someone came by and vandalized everything
Now here is a part I was going to save for last but screw it. I know some of you will laugh but I did have a reason for this. I didn't want a regular antenna and I do like the look of the shark fins. Some are going to think I am nuts but oh well, someday when some noob joins the board wanting to know what a TY would look like with a shark fin and I am long gone, you can tell him, Hey, I remember when that TYTILIDIE guy did that:lol:
It looks like I am going to get my trans fittings this week, also my fittings for my vacuum lines. After that, I just need the radiator and elec fans and the core support goes back on and the IC piping will get done. I did just buy a bead roller, seems to be a piece of shit though.

what trans? where'd you get the bead roller from? a decent one supposedly isn't cheap!! nice work.

Thank you. So far it looks I am sticking with 700. Once I blow it up it probably will sit for another few months so I can do the 80e. Had to pass up a smokin deal on a set up recently but I really had no choice. I did buy a bead roller, I will say this, the $140 unit form Harbor Freight, is a PIECE OF SHIT!!!! Don't buy it!!

OK, new progress, getting closer and closer. Got my vacuum fittings in

Went ahead and put the fenders and core support on so I could get all my IC piping together
Did most of the IC piping and some of the vacuum fittings. Also got my trans stuff in, hooked lines up to the radiator.
Thats all I have for now. Hopefully I can spend another $500 next week. :lol:

X3, however I would reconsider using the prolite hose so close to the crossover and exhaust parts. I have a buddy that put twins on his Impala SS and he had problems with the prolite hose close to the hot stuff. And on my SS a hose got lightly singed and it was about 3" away from a primary.... just my:2cents:

I have thought about this several times. I am almost ready to leave the core support bolted up for good. I need to make a bracket for the IC piping so it doesn't hit any pulleys. While I'm at it, I think maybe I will make a heat shield for the lines. I think a heat shield should do it don't you? Thanks for the compliments guys.

Made some more progress. First, I removed the cladding from the driver side fender. Two tabs are broken off and one is ripped. It has been that way for a few years now:lol: I fixed it JB, I have doubts about it holding but I am getting to the phuck it point. Anyway, I cleaned the fender really good and made a stainless panel for the fender to cover up the ugly holes.
Passenger side will get done tomorrow. Then I went and made a bracket to hold my alky reservoir
I worked on the vacuum lines too, would ya look at that!!:lol:
I also had the flange welded in for my BOV and attached my alky nozzle. Then ran the line in to some clamps
Then I realized that even after having the IC pipe welded in front of the crank pulley that it will hit. I made a nice adjustable sliding bracket for it
Then I went to the ol junk yard and fetched me a dipstick/tube, plug wire looms. Thought I'd copy the Donger (DON W.):lol:
While I was pulling this stuff off of a 02 Blazer, I noticed that they don't use a port for the heater core hose on the radiator. So I took my radiator back and exchanged it for the later model unit. I am thinking this should give me more clearance for the 4" Cobra elbow. Even if it didn't matter, I always hated that damn "S" hose. I should get the other fender panel done tomorrow, once that is done, the core and fenders will be on for good. I also plan on building a bracket to hold the alky pump as well. Hope I can get it all done in one day.

Yeah we put the hood one AFTER we had it welded on:lol: It clears by about an inch or so. I am getting super tired of taking shit off and putting it back on over and over and over again. Almost achieved my goal, I have the driver side fender DONE, bolted on for good. I just have a few thing to do on the passenger side, but all in it is almost done as well. I am getting pretty close to being done with this thing, cant wait.

Also got my hydra boost backing plates in so I went ahead and completed the hydra boost install
Also, core support and driver side fender are bolted down for good. Radiator and efans are now mounted also with the IC piping all buttoned up
Piping looks super close to the pulley but is actually about an inch away
For now I have to buy me a new overflow tank at the dealer, then I need to get my 4" Cobra elbow and finish my air intake set up, here is where I am right now
Once that is done, passenger side fender will be mounted permanently and I will move on to the plug wires, then the exhaust, maybe both at the same time:lol:
