I had alot of empty industrial park "practice" with racing the bike before i ever went to the track for the first time. The biggest difference at the track was how much better the bike hooked so I had to adjust my clutch/throttle technique. My first three 60' times were 2.0, 1.9, 1.7.

My point exactly, you even had a lot of practice before you went to a track to race & you ran a 2.0.

So you see, most bike riders have no idea how to launch hard mainly talking bout the new gen bikes short wheel base lotsa power(wheelie monsters)!!!

Re: Motorcycle 60FT times

Yea it was a big difference from launching on concrete to a prepped track with traction compound. The first run I just feathered it out at 6k rpm, second run 8k rpm and third run was 10k rpm really slipping it out like I was used too.

I 100% agree with you most people have no idea how to launch their bikes. Its always funny every year having new riders go out and buy brand new 1000's and Hayabusas then getting embarassed by 600's and 750's.

bone stock 2004 zx10r in 1/8 mile, stock suspension, tires, ride height. 1.55 60ft, 6.5@118mph.
2006 zx10r 1.7 60ft, 6.7@118 in 1/8th, 10.00@145mph in 1/4.
both sea level tracks, 170lb rider
my avg 60ft's 1.55-1.65 on a good launch. This is stock height, no extended swingarm, etc. lowering bike, extending the swingarm would drop it more of course and make it more consistent. I've had about 22yrs riding experience.
