Mounted A1000 PICS

Please tell me someone has some. I am getting ready to install mine. I was looking at the inner frame on the driver side but think it may be too far from the tank. If anyone has any pics of how you mounted yours on a TYphoon, I'd love to see them. TIA>

You don't have issues getting fuel to the pump all the way over there? That is exactly the spot I was looking to mount it in.

My exhaust occupies that spot...

I do have my weldon mounted where the load leveler was though.

AJ right? I am not sure I have a complete list of pics for that. Here is what I do have and I will explain the rest.

Unfortunately that is the best I can do right this second. If my explanation doesn't help I can take some line routing pics when I get home later for you. Basically I have my sump facing the rear of the tank. The lines go together to the driver side of the frame. I ran them inside the frame putting rubber hose around them in potential abrasion areas. Once it gets to the pump, they then go over the torsion bar x-member along the stock line location. You know that bracket for the fuel lines on side of transmission? I incorporated that in to the mix. I used a self tapping screw and a bigger bracket to retain the fuel lines.

I don't know if you know this (I'm sure you do) but there is a "dimple" in the body seam where the fuel lines pass through (stock). I simply ran them through that location and you should be able to see the rest in the pictures.

Let me know if you need some more pics.

If your planning on driving this on the street much.. that Billet Fuel Pump controller is a must.

It slows the pump speed down 33% when not at RPM above XXX (where you set it at)

My fuel was getting hot with out that controller .. and I've got a 15gallon cell.

When I went on drag week I let the fuel get all the way down to the bottom.. still wasn't warm!

It's awsome! :)

X2 on the controller. It costs as much as the pump but well worth the money. I did a ton of reading about it online before I bought my set up and found that the A1000 was WELL known for failure. However, I also found on certain forums that you would find guys that would add their two cents that they used the controller and never had a single issue.

I know I would have burned up my pump with out it. I could go maby 50mi before the controller and the pump was very loud and the fuel feed/return lines were hot to the touch... with still a half tank of gas!!

With the controller I drove 4hrs streight to the point I was almost out of gas and the lines were not even warm. Pump just purrrs back there.. don't hear it running.. but above 3000rpm it's full on!
It's a life saver... err.. I mean a pump saver. :)

Billet Fuel Pump Speed Controller, P/N 16306

For any pump, on any type of vehicle, the Aeromotive Fuel Pump Speed Controller (FPSC) minimizes hot fuel handling problems for in-line pumps in bypass systems and it will also keep T-style pumps cool in static systems, extending fuel pump life. Sensing engine RPM, the FPSC kicks your fuel flow into high gear when you need it, but reduces pump speed and flow to keep things cool when you don't. It's like an automatic transmission for your electric fuel pump.

When you're cruising, Aeromotive’s Billet Fuel Pump Controller automatically steps voltage down to the Fuel Pump at lower RPM, then it continuously monitors engine speed, stepping voltage and flow back up when needed. The RPM step-point is adjustable, allowing calibration for your specific application.

They must have re-designed it .. mine is red... But same basic thing :)

Re: Mounted A1000 PICS

I built a twin turbo motor for a friend with a 3000gt VR4 and he burned up 2 of the A1000 pumps from just driving it every once in a while and to the racetrack. He switched to a Fuel Lab pump with a build in controller (manually operated with a switch) and that one stopped working after a year. He's back to the Aeromotive and I convinced him to get the controller for it. The pump is so loud at full speed so for that reason alone the controller is nice! The car goes on the Dyno tonight and then it will be back in his possesion so I guess I will wait and see if he finally stops burning up pumps! The good thing was both Aeromotive and Fuel Lab made good on the pumps when he had problems with them, as you guys know they aren't cheap so that was a good thing!

From my experience it was a total success. Wish him luck with it too!
