Any future plans for a 4 link? I was going to build traction bars but figured thats half the parts it needs to be linked, and then add c\o's. I will just get my truck running, then link it on some sort of down time i am sure to have

Previously I was going to but so many people are running FAST with leafs, that I decided to just stay with them. For simplicity I really like the leaf too. If I ever do decide to go 4 link, I could easily sell the traction bars for more then I will have into them.

Do you remember what sizes of fans you are running? any cooling issues?

Ram charger fans. No cooling issuses. Was in bad traffic for an hour this weekend in 98* weather with no problems. The old fans I had in the beginning weren't enough

if you do a search you will see what they are off of, 300c i belive....

if you must have thin, i would go with a shrouded setup from flexalite.

*WINTER UPGRADES*

After lots of driving and some racing this summer, I figured out some things that I want/need to upgrade before going any faster. To start off, was having a fuel pressure problem where my stock LS truck regulator couldn't keep up with my new fuel pump. It couldn't regulate the pressure below 75psi idling, which only got higher, 1:1 with boost. So about a month ago I got a new regulator and hooked it up using fittings I had utilizing the stock LS truck fuel rails.

I have ran this with since right after Nats. While it functions perfectly it was not very good looking. So I decided to upgrade my intake and fuel rails which I have wanted to do for the last 2 years. Here is a pic of the new setup, it should look familiar as there are two other LSx SyTys with this setup.

The intake/rails were pretty cheap for what you get. I paid $405 for the intake and $125 for the fuels from an online speed shop. So, with that said, here a pic of the engine bay as it has been for a while now.

Along with the intake, I will be doing lots of other updates. This will consist of putting in a non-a/c heater box so I can redo my down pipe. The 4" down pipe is just too tight of a fit in there with the 275s up front. You can see from this pic, it rubs on the down pipe when the wheel is turned to the right and I hit a bump.

You can also see that I had to clearance my control arm quite a bit to fit my coilovers(true 2.5" springs). So I will be making some tubular upper control arms. Still trying to source some poly bushings that use a metric sleeves(suggestions???) Right now the plan is to get a carbon fiber box from Mr King, just need to save some money for that.

To go along with all of this new stuff I will be doing aluminum intake tubing with the left over stuff from the Ty's intake and an aluminum core support. The support is one of the crap ones that Keith(?) made. We got it with the Ty so I will be heavily modding it to use on the Sy.

1320275234.jpg

After work today i tore into it and got this far into mocking up the intake to see how much i will need to rework my wiring harness.

And here is a pic of all the stuff that I took off of it. (the blower box had to be removed in pieces do to me not wanting to move my motor to pull it out in one piece.)

After all this is done, I will be upgrading boost controllers and I will be using all braided line for my vacuum lines. We moved my tru-boost to Roys Sy about two weeks ago so I will be going to a real nice race controller. Right now I am looking at a AMS1000 but Im trying to hold out till the 2000 comes out to see the price on that. After all this, if I have time/money Im going to put a 10pt in the truck. I getting tired of only being able to go to one track here and having to lie to the tech when Im there.

Ok funny guy

Uhm shouldn't we be building a junkyard transmission instead of working on the junkyard motor that runs perfectly fine?

So since you took out the blower box I'm guessing your going to use a non-A/C one?

Are you still planning on trying to incorporate an A/C setup somehow or is that idea gone the way of the Dodo?

I am completely ditching the a/c idea. We drove it around alot this summer in the heat and the windows down was good enough. If/when I get the time to do a/c, it will be on the Ty. It's just too hot in the back seat during the summer

ordered up some fittings for the fuel rails that should be here on Thursday. Thanks to Roy, i did get the iat sensor hole drilled and tapped. It was fun drilling on the new intake..

Don't take this the wrong way because I really think your build looks better and better by the post but, if it were me, I'd machine that Edelbrock logos off. I never thought it looked good on newer stuff. Too "old school" or something. BTW, great job so far.

No offense taken. I have been contemplating machining it off and having the guy that does the diff covers make me a plate with syclone machined in it. I have been pricing out an end mills to do it with too.

I think it look sweet just milled off and polished to a nice mirror finish.

I'm not a huge fan of polished stuff. If I did that, then I feel I would have to do the whole intake like that and boy that would be a pain with the casting.

I think I'll start a poll for what I should do on the top
