My days at the junkyard

So Ive been planning a trip to the mountains here in the next couple weeks and thoguht Ild address all my poblems with the truck before we go. Since Ive had numerous fuel issues I decided to go to the JY and get me a fuel sending unit or hanger assy whatever you want to call it. I get down there yesturday and start taking off the cover to the tank. I then realize that the 91 Blazer or Jimmy's have a different fuel line set up. I search around for one like ours and found it on a 93 Tahoe Blazer. It had a few other things IVe been wanting like the later model trans dipstick and the light switch panel. So I notice theyt dropped the truck gas tank right on top of the rim jackstands they make. I had to get the big chain jack and jack it up to move the rim stands. I put them under the tow hitch. The I crack open the tool box and grab the 10mm only to find that it doesnt fit. Now like a jackass I only brought the sockets that I use when I do my tank. So I call it a day and vow to make the trip back today. I get there about 9:30 and get all fired up. I get down on the ground and open the tool box only to now find that I had left my rachet, socket nad extension there yesturday and it was gone. So I pack up and run to Homedepot and get another one. I get back, get the cover off and when I do I see this huge wasp nest. I go up to hte counter and ask them to spray it for me. They said theyld send someone right out. I waited a half hour and nothing. Ask the lady whats going on and she tells me she sent a guy to the store to get some. Another half hour passes by and I go ask whats going on and she says he came back and shell have him right out. So I wait another 20 minutes or so and call the place telling her I dont wasnt to be there all day and finally 5 minutes later the guy comes out. He sprays the nest and I smash all the wasps that were squirming around. I go to get on with my tank removal and the guy with the spray stays and tries to chat. After I get the tank out he looks me and says I look like someone who could have dealt with the bees onmy own. I was like what a ****in homo. When he said that he made this creepy grin at me. I got what I had come for and packed up my stuff and left. So as Im paying for my stuff one of hte other workers asks me if its my TY out in the prk lot. I say yes and as it turns out hes a memeber of my fan club. I showed him the motor and all he could talk about is how bad ass my truck is and how hes seen me around woopin ass. So after about 2 hours of crap and one bunk trip I finally got my fuel tank hanger assy.

Re: My days at the junkyard

Sounds like something that would happen to me. Always keep track of your tools man, I am assuming that the ones you lost weren't really expensive to begin with. Lose a set of Snap-On's and you'll be pissed. Glad to hear you didn't get attacked by any wasps, the're mean SOBs when they get mad (don't ask how I know:oops: ). Bring a can of bug killer in the future, Raid works really well.:2cents:

Your kill record is alot better than your junk yard trip.:rotf: I usually take way more tools than I need incase I find something else I want or need, only to find out I still left a tool at home about 40 miles away. But I do get what I usually went for, just have to forget the extra things.
