WOW WEEEEEE!!!!!
I can kick my self for not getting it first (before 20G)
At 11psi, it is faster that the 20G at 20psi. NO lag at all ! It sound sooo good, I love this turbo !!!!

Thank you Detroit Turbo for all parts (Turbo, Adapter, Fittings, gaskets ext..)

If it was legal, i would marry this turbo. :rotf:

Re: My first impression of GT35R

Yes I so agree with that the spool up is incredible, I do have a 3000stall converter thou. I like that it is so linear in power and its just keeps on pulling hard (my prev turbo was stock so it was a big step for me to get at GT35R).
Cruising in third gear around 55mph and flooring it to pass cars in traffic makes a big smile on my face everytime :)

With Vortec heads and cam, a 20G would have been way beyond its efficiency limit at 20 PSI, so it's no surprise that it would have been slow at that boost pressure.

Glad to hear things are working out for you now!

What did you use for a downpipe and intake/filter since the GT35R has all non-standard connections??

Re: My first impression of GT3582RSS

I made my own down pipe, 45deg mandrel 3inch s.s pipe i bought from ebay, then 3 inch s.s flex pipe to mufler. Works great. For intake, 4inch 90deg mandrel alum pipe to Kenn bell cold air with 4inch cone filter.

Hey Canadian, we shoud get together.

Re: My first impression of GT35R

Alex,

I'm really glad you are happy with that turbo setup. I have been waiting to hear what you thought about it since yours was the first Garrett / SS TiAL v-band setup on a syty.

I think we need to call that the GT3582RSS , SS for the TiAL housing. :D

It would be really cool to see a video, if you could get the sound of the turbo in there and the boost gauge showing how quickly it spools uploaded on www.tuneyfish.com

Do some videos of your installation and win the other one and go twins. After all, that turbo in the contest is your turbo's sibling. Thats just one, can you imagine two of those things? :p

Regular pricing on everything puts it around $2100

If we were to sell any of these it would be on a GP with a minimum of 5 @ $1850 each.

Re: My first impression of GT3582RSS

any chance that you have some pics of the downpipe? how long is the 45? then your flex piece makes the final bend under the firewall, or is it welded to another 45 that makes the turn under the truck?

thanks

What the heck are the zippie ties doing on the oil feed line going into the turbo?? Is this a covering of some sort? I hope it's not THE oil feed line!

looks like the line for the water cooled center section. Either way, rubber hose for the oil drain and a zip tie for the water line = disaster in the making.
