How much boost? What is your set-up?

on my last run i launched at 2 lbs. ran down the track w/20-21lbs. on pump gas 93 oct.

'92 ty air to air, super 25g, 50lb. injectors, vortec heads, atr headers, no a/c or heat or abs, bbk tb, msd ignition w/msd dizzy. i'm leaving stuff out cuz' i can't remember all of it right now but you get the idea. and no tune. i know, not such a great idea but i don't have access to any of those privileges.

Were you spinning your tires a lot? Your 60' time seems a little off. Nice runs though. :2cents:

Ya 115.80 should be a 11.77 according to a drag race calculator, you must have been spinning, did you lock up your converter? What cam are you running?? When you mean no tune what chip or engine management are you using??

Re: my new 1320... i'm so excited!!

That's great. Congrats. Those kind of numbers are fun to put down.

X2 on the speed/ET. I've run 11.6 @ 116 so based on your speed there's some ET to be had there. Were you data logging?

I got the 2 step installed & ready for some high octane.

Use to do a little Boost
Re: my new 1320... i'm so excited!!

Nice time!

Work on that launch. You should be in the 1.6x range or faster with that lite weight of Ty. Easy 11.5x in it. With a good tune.......................................................maybe a 10.9x?

Re: my new 1320... i'm so excited!!

oh, hey guys, sorry for the late response, i thought this thread was dead.

i have the 412 crane cam and also gold crane 1.6(?) rockers. i think the launch is what might be killing me the most? i did get a 1.8 60ft. so i know i need to werk on it some.

as far as spinning? i couldn't be sure. my guess is no. the reason i say no is cause my friend w/front wheel drive had his tires coated w/track (the black tar or whatever it is they put down) and mine were clean. frt and rr. i could be wrong since that probably means nothing. just thought i'd try out my junior detective kit. :D

no data logs. bruce, syclone#2960 didn't bring his 'puter. i didn't think to request it in time.

according to the drag calculator it gave me a 423.++ hp rating @ the motor. does anyone know the percentage loss to the wheels for our trucks?

thanks for the great responses to my track times

oh yeah, i forgot to mention i have the much older ultimate boxes with a key to unlock the settings. can't remember the chip, though. it's somewhere on one of my older posts.

Hi Friends,
I need the Under Radiator Oil Cooler Brackets for the 79-83 models & the bolts as well.
I also need the Charcoal Canister Bracket, which mounts onto the firewall I think. If it makes any difference, my canister is from an s5 n/a. Please let me know if you have either one.

Ummm not to be a dick but start a thread in the "parts wanted" section. Don't hijack a thread that has nothing to do with what you need.

Back to topic, great runs but you definitely need to get those 60ft times trimmed down! I got my truck to go 1.69 60ft on a much milder build and it ran 12.84 at 105. With the power you're making you should easier ne able to shave that down. Grow some balls and launched at 10+psi!!!

thanx to all for the comments

still trying to learn the light tree, but i was also under the impression that when the green light was lit i was suppose to "go". so i was never building much boost at all. on the 11.9 run all i got up to was a 2# launch.

i guess when you are racing against someone then green means "go", but if you are just going for your times then build as much boost as you possibly can. "times" don't start until you leave the line. at least that is how i understood it.

You are only racing against the timer and the timer does not start until you move foward. Forget reaction time is has nothing to do with your ETs. Get it up on boost and go when you're ready! Lol forget the guy in the other just go fast!

What I do I'd light the prestage bulb, set the brakes, start buiding boost then creep it in until the stage light comes on. I stand on the brake let it build up and rip it when I see the 3rd yellow amber.
