Hey again guys!

Now i've finally am a proud owner of a Ty! In this thread i will post everything i do with the Ty refreshing, tuning etc.

As seen in the pictures the paint has had some oxidize going on for the last 10 years in a barn. But as you can see some polish can do the magic (not finished) :D

I still don't know what's done in tuning ways of the truck, ( for the ones who haven't read my first post, here some short info http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=101083 )

As i never ever had looked into the engine part of a SyTy before i just didn't know what to expect. (Only had european cars before such as Bmw and Volvo). I first started to look for the water IC and quickly understood that there was none to be found. So the only thing i know for sure now is that Geiger have put air-to-air IC in it.

In one of the picture you can see the manifold, it dosen't look like the stock one if should trust the pictures on google. What do you guys think?
I have wrote an email to Geiger Cars asking if the have any documentation left on the job they've done on the truck, i know it's a longshot but it's worth asking.

The only rust on the truck is some on the surface of the exhaust system, driveline and some bolt heads around the car other than that it's free from rust.

Tell me what you think about the truck and every tip i can't get in my investigation regarding what's done in tuning ways in the truck is very welcome.

Re: My Swedish Ty #2175

So i tried my ALDL cable yesterday to do some fault code readings and tried the datalogging function of Datamaster. I had a bitch slapping moment on my self before i understood how the software works. These are some fault codes that was shown. Now i'm not really sure but i guess the green numbers is the fault codes that are active? As i said before i'm new to the GM world and all that comes with it but im trying to learn ;)

Nice truck! When I first saw the wheels I thought "cool, it looks like a Geiger typhoon" and then saw the dash and knew it had to be!

The green codes are the codes that apply to the truck. If you have a fault then they will go red.

Great looking truck!

Re: My Swedish Ty #2175

So there haven't been much going on in this thread lately, I've had a lot to do on work
so.

As for for the TY I've received some parts from Sportmachine and Rockauto. I thought it would be best to exchange everything that could been at risk these last 11 years in the barn with seals and hoses drying/cracking. The polish of the paint was really nice as you can see in the pictures. I didn't thought the cladding was painted but i was wrong =) .

I've haven't heard anything from Geiger cars i Germany since i mailed them i'm starting to doubt they'll answer. So i have to investigate the unknown upgrades my self. But still it's a lot more fun to do it by you self.

I don't know if i mentioned that my alternator gave up a few weeks ago when i was going to log some data from the truck. Smoke came out from it and afterwards i measured it and it was not charging.
So first off today is to take that out and have it re-manufactured. If possible i have it upgraded too 140amps.

Later on i will tear that hell-core out :), but after getting some info form you guys it seems to be a easy operation compared to some other cars.

Re: My Swedish Ty #2175

So i was starting to take the front bumper and grille off when i noticed this. This might explain the cause of strange shifting the previous owner told me about. wierd that he didn't noticed that, since the first thing i would be looking for is leakage and fluid level. Well everything is comming off so this won't be the last suprise to be shown :D

Nice work so far. I love seeing a SY or TY get a little TLC and it becomes such a drastic change.

Is that a transmission cooler mounted in the stock intercooler location? Looks like the rubber lines might be leaking... no surprise there after 8 years of sitting.

Re: My Swedish Ty #2175

I'm not really sure, but i guess Geiger cars moved the Transmission cooler after they've putted the Air-Air Intercooler in the front. This cooler is placed under the car just right behind the front bumper. Not my first choice of location since it's so unprotected there. Well now i have another argument to my gf why we must buy a 80e :D

Re: My Swedish Ty #2175

Things are slowly moving forward with the truck. Been continue stripping the front area and going for the engine. But I had myself another surprise when I took the radiator off nobody told me that it was a multi one with oil to. So I scratched my head a few times at the big pool of oil at my feets :)

The A\C is coming off.
Does anybody know if I just can open my garage door and empty the ac system with a hose outside? Is it liquid or gas? Witch valve should I use? I found a link to a guide but it was broken :(

Re: My Swedish Ty #2175

The A/C compressor with bracket is now out of the truck. So I started to inspect the turbo,dp and the manifolds.

The turbo isn't stock it's a KKK27. That's atleast what I could found out when i Google the serial number. So the wastegate is hidden on pipe going down under the car. Didn't really see that when the big AC bracket was still on.

It's saves me a lot of money and time to not needing to build a custom exhaust/headers. I will just blast the rust of all exhaust components and coat it black. And just change the flange if i want to use a other turbo or wastegate.

Regarding the A/C delete I'm thinking of going the Vasplieons way. I like having the space in the engine bay. So if somebody reading this that have pictures on it feel free to share. I just found some but it won't show how the tensioner is installed.

The turbo looks and feels to be in pretty good condition. ;)
