My Syclone is home

My syclone is finally home at my house. Its been sitting at my parent house stranded because of dead battery/blown fuse (from when I tried to jump it) and salt on the road. Hopefully when the weather is fair, I can start my winter projects.

I had it flat bedded home via AAA :)

I had a few issues getting it on the flat bed. One, good thing I don't have it lowered, it would have bottomed out the front and the exhaust. It also good, that I had the IC scoop off. I had to do some coaxing and some revalution as the driver would the front bumper cover against the tow chains. Ofcourse the driver didn't know jack about the Sy, He accused me of lowering it (I didn't, it actually slightly higher than before I put the coilovers on.) and putting on a body kit. During the hassle of getting it on the flat bed, he was trying to convince me to just use a regular wrecker. I had to explain to him it AWD not 4wd.

The ride back tow truck driver was interesting as well. His daily driver is a lowered modified Maxima with 'the import look', it was lower so it would handle better and be faster. He summer toy a 95 Mustang Cobra. The cobra had 700hp with stage three everything  Stage 3 cltuch, tranny, rear end, supercharger, etc. He hadn't been to drag strip yet, but he think the Mustang will run 10's on on street tires no problem. Oh yeah next thing he is doing with the Mustang, "is cutting the back half of the frame, so he can put on a wide body kit, so it will be sick." He asked if my truck is something like an Xtreme, I said yeah something like that but a little more unique and performance oriented, I didn't bother to educate him.

The wrecker driver is an import and a stang driver? Did he chew tobacco? Did he want to hold on to your leg while he was driving?

I love the "stage" talk. A co-workers son was telling me yesterday that he went with a buddy to pick up pistons for his 2.2 stroker Neon. The pistons he said were 11.6:1 compression, and he was going to run a "stage 2" turbo kit at 12psi for 853hp. His dad was there so I didn't bust on him, just said "wow....that'll be fun."

Re: My Syclone is home

I'm dreading the day I have to call AAA to pick my truck up for something. (if anything at all..)

If I have to move it myself, I'll run downt to Uhaul and rent a trailer and truck and tow the baby back somewhere. (if I'm not stuck somewhere that is..)

O well, I'll find another
Re: My Syclone is home

yeah, I had a 99 grand cherokee with AWD and I had it towed, they showed up with a regular wrecker. I said no its AWD, you would think they understand this stuff. You know, doing this for a living and all. Then the new truck they sent broke down with my Jeep on it 1/2 way to the shop... I missd my appt with my mechanic. And still had to pay!!!!! Needless to say that the 4 hours I wasted doing all this and still having to pay, I raised hell. So the dirty bastards wouldnt let my truck down till I paid them. I dont use that wrecking company anymore.
But like two weeks later I saw the same guy in the same wrecker broke down again, good thing I just left Arbys and had a full soda to throw. I felt better after that... :)

I hate the drivers that like to tell you about ypour car. Happened a few months ago when my wife split the oil pan on her Benz. This guy tried telling me all about my AMG Benz, hello it's not an AMG model but because I had AMG wheels all of the sudden I have a car that has all kinds of problems and he sees this happen all the time. I just let the ass keep talking and tuned him out like he was one of my employees.

BTW my wife split the pan because she was doing 75 going thru a yellow light and the road dips on the other side causing the car to be about a good 6 inches in the air before it lands!.
