Re: Myclone is gone

Hello. I am Mrs. warmpancakes. My husband told me about the loss of Myclone, so I've been reading the posts all day on this site. It's so nice to see that you are all so close, eventhough many of you have never met. It's no wonder the hubby talks about you guys often.

I too, as a wife to a car nut, get worried about him working on heavy vehicles in his garage. Especially since warmpancakes is a complete clutz and can hurt himself doing just about anything. But I know it's what he loves and I can only support him.

My thoughts go out to all of you and to Mrs. Myclone.

I hope you all don't mind that I posted (a woman on your site).

Re: Myclone is gone

man...... i still cant believe it. i was just talking about wanting to drive up there and hang out with them again. hell, he was just here a few weeks ago unloading my mill. dave was like superman..... but without a cape and a larger forehead. he was like herman munster but smarter and much more creative. he was just a damn good guy. he was hard headed and at the same time just so cool. god im gonna miss that dood. death is such a hard thing to deal with especially as you get older and if you question religion. i just hope hes in a better place. he deserves it. damn he deserves it.

i just talked to marshal (good friend of daves) hes at the house taking care of everything. turbo girl is away making arrangements. they are susposed to call me later and let me know whats going on.

for those of you that want to know.....(i couldnt help but ask) dave was under the dually, messin with the transmission, knocked it out of park, the jack slid off the crossmember, and down came the truck. its not quite that simple...... but several small things led to a bad ending. guys please be careful when your working in your garage. PLEASE.... its hard for me to hear my friend died doing something i do all the time (working under a truck). i mean damn he was here yesterday and gone today....... just wish i could undo it somehow.

myclone and turbo girl were by no means well off. they were always working crazy hours to make a buck. daves truck was always unique, driven by his creativity and lack of budget. i have parts on my truck right now that he hand built. my DIY wide-band has a removable metal cover on the back. when you take it off, on the inside in permanent marker it says "you'r a homo". thanks dave. im sure turbo girl could really use some help with funds for the arrangements. and i totally trust that turd-burgler mike renz to make sure all the cash goes to the right place. if you can afford it give a few bucks it will help.

dave im gonna miss ya man.

Re: Myclone is gone

What a tragedy! I am taken back at the loss of a unanimously-revered member of this forum...

I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Myclone personally, but like everyone else, I too enjoyed his down-to-earth, humorous slant on things. I also admired his willingness to type out a "novel" of a post, sharing prior experience, to help someone he had never met before on the board.

The likes of Myclone will be dearly missed, both on this forum & in life in general. As cliche' as it may sound though, his spirit will live on in the memories we all have. God rest his soul!

Re: Myclone is gone

A member of our forums (www.ptcrew.com) is also a member here. He linked this thread and I just wanted to let you all know that my thoughts and prayers are with Myclones family and friends. Obviously, I never met the man, or his family, but just from reading this thread, I can see how valuable and special he was to all of you. So, from one car guy to a bunch of others, I'm sorry for your loss.....Everyone be careful out there!

I never met David, or even knew his name was David until all of this. But I did read Myclone's posts and could tell he was a great guy. My condolences to you and your family. RIP Myclone!

Truckless. For now.
Re: Myclone is gone

there's not much I can say that hasn't been said already. I'm one of the unlucky ones who never had a chance to meet David in person, but like every other member of this board, I've read every post of his I could find.

He always had knowledge to share that was unique and worth reading. My condolences go out to MsMyclone and the rest of his family.

It's a sad day for not only SyTy'ers, but Car Nuts everywhere.

Goodbye to a true car guy :myclone:

Re: Myclone is gone

I've been trying to figure out what to post for a while and reading through all of the posts I'm not sure what else can be said here that hasn't. So please allow me to echo my deepest condolences for friends and family of this truly special human being. He was a bright star that stood out amongst the universe and you know what they say about the brightest stars. We can all only hope to be the kind of person that Dave was every day and I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say that this is a real wake up call for me about how fragile life is and you don't always have tomorrow to help someone else out or let them know how you really feel about them. We've all heard the phrase 'Live each day like it's your last' but how many of us really know what that means? Please people, take this opportunity to hold the ones you love close and make sure they TRULY know how you feel.

RIP Dave... you will be missed.

I never got to meet him or even speak to him one on one, but his help here on the board has definitely made being a sy/ty owner easier, and more enjoyable. RIP.

Re: Myclone is gone

well I have to join the group who is speachless. I've been kind of reeling since someone sent me the link to this post...

I first met Dave back in 01 at the Nats in GB.

He definitely knew his shit.
When it came to helping strangers he was second to none.
When it came to idiots he would be the first one to call em out.

I have lots of little things laying around that came from myclone or remind me of him.
Like E-rue, I have a DIY WB that Dave assembled and left a nice sig on the inside cover.
Dave drove to MA to pick up a used trans for me and then crated it and shipped it without asking for a dime.

When we talked on the phone we would pop beers together and do a symbolic "cheers to syty" at the end of our call. damn I am gonna miss that redneck.

CHEERS
to myclone and all the redneck ingenuity he was able to spread around.
he will live on in our memories and our trucks.

Rest assured I will be flying a RIP Myclone on my wb02 case cover.
RIP Dave, you will be missed

Re: Myclone is gone

Wow, can't believe this. As most others have said, I never really got much of a chance to meet him other than maybe exchanging a few words in a thread every now and then. But as everyone else has said, he was a valued member of the forums and a nice guy.
I'm very sorry.

Re: Myclone is gone

I was going through old emails I had shared with Dave when I still had my Ty. I was asking for input from someone who understands budgets and my lack desire to work on my Ty...

I hear ya man... There have been days when Im taking a break from doing
whatever in the garage and I look at my truck and think about how much money, time,
and attention Ive heaped on a piece of machinery that could care less if I
drop dead five minutes from now. Makes me want to take a big hammer to it as
well as my own mellon for doing so when I think about it. So, yeah...I believe I
understand what youre saying but like I mentioned in my post it gives me
enjoyment to spend money on it, spend time working on it, and researching parts or
the next magical 100hp bolt on so I guess it provides me with an outlet to
take my mind off of the insanity around me.

There was about 10 more paragraphs of conversation. I always imagined Myclone sitting behind the keyboard with both index fingers feverishly searching for the right keys. I can only imagine how long it took for him to type some of the things he did. Which I think also shows the passion he had for these stupid trucks. He wasn't known for short posts.

No problem Dave. You should know by now that if I can help you in any way all
ya gotta do is ask. Hell, even if I cant help you deffinately can count on me
for an opinion and the desire to talk about my opinion for hours on end.

Take care and just remember to do what makes YOU happy and brings a smile to
your face cause other than the better half thats the only one you need to be
concerned with.

I think the last part says it all. Dave shared this feeling with everyone. Anybody that asked for his help got it. Even if you didn't ask for help - you probably got it.

Lisa,
If there is anything you need please let us know.
