We had a get together about 3 years ago. Great turn out. Your truck was there, but you didn't own it then! Anyways, I work weekends, so i would just have to take off. Guy i work with has a syclone, Joe has a syclone and a typhoon. There are a few other around. I go to union hill to the races every Tuesday night. Always in the blazer though. The phoon still needs a tranny.

Yeah i have heard about your times. Great job! I think I am going to get McCoy to build my tranny for me. I guess i will get his stage 1 tranny. I have the Mitsu TD06H 20G turbo now. Not a huge upgrade but definately alot more CFM's over stock. it has a 14cm housing on it. Last time i went to Union hill it wouldn't let me spool over 2 psi because of the converter stall speed. I expect to hit in the 7's on the new tranny. Are you going to KC?

OK, maybe i will check with waller, lol. I bought my center caps from him out in Great Bend. How much are his rebuilds? I am wanting to go a 3000 stall i believe. I can't remember, is he in GA or somewhere kinda close? I know McCoy is about 6hours or so away. I am sure they can build a good tranny too. I think they priced me around 2200 if I install it. Not too bad. Maybe this will be the last tranny you have to buy for a while.
I can't wait to get back to driving the Typhoon. I have a 98 blazer with a 5 speed for a daily driver. I have to run 93 octane in it so i am already used to buying the better fuel. I think I am going to put a vortec on the blazer. It runs a slow 10.0 up at Union Hill (Beats half the Stang GT's, lol). I have a 75 shot for it already, have not used it yet. I want to break 9's in the blazer, then i will get the vortec or ATI for it. Plan on 10psi boost. The Typhoon Tranny comes first. Hell, i may sell the Blazer and get a wrx. I like AWD Turbo, hehe!

I am awaiting a reply to the PM I sent him. My truck should be getting close to the speed of your soon. Which turbo did you have again? I wish i had gone with the pte route instead of my 20G. I dunno, it may do better with a tranny. It burned mine up in about 2 weeks. couldn't do any launches with it.

LOL, well let me get the tranny first. we'll see. Joes buddy ran mid 7's on a stock engine with a 20g like mine. I am running 19psi. I have a top gun NOS kit, i could spray a little to get me down if i ran a little race gas, hehehehe. We'll see. They are gonna make me get a roll bar! I have a set of 98 vortec heads for mine (of my 98 blazer motor). i have to get the intake manifold machined first. getting the heads hogged and ground with 2.02 and 1.6 valves. they will flow really well. I am rebuilding my 98 vortec engine with 8.1 comp forged srp's, and some eagle x rods.. I want to see how the typhoon will run with the balance shaft engine in it. ohh well. I need a tranny first. LOL

I agree with Jimmy about your Ty and the cliff. Maybe if we pulled it down the track with a top fuel dragster. :lol: (just kidding Rob). My buddy,Rob M., ran 7.48 and he never had the valve covers off the engine,but it was in a Sy (lighter) and it took more than just a bigger turbo to get it there. We do need to get everybody together again...just name the time and place. Where do you live Steve? Jimmy...youre not going to the Nats now? Whats up with that?

I talked to Jimmy yesterday and he is going with Christina and I so he must like how i smell 0X . I think Jimmy flew Waller in and they rebuilt it at his house but im not sure.

I would do borrow the Z shop for a day. But then you got to fly the tranny to SC. Then Fly everyong back, ect. Be less trouble to just drive the typhoon over there and grey hound home. Have dad drive me back a week or 2 later. Either way. I need to get it fixed so i can start modding again.

No....Jimmy didnt fly his tranny to Waller..he flew Waller to Tennessee and fixed it here. It would be easier and cheaper that way.

Dang, it has almost been a year since i was able to race my typhoon. That sucks! I have driven it though. I am too lazy to take the tranny out of it. I guess i need to just get motivated. I have the tranny out of the blazer for the 2nd time. I am going to Atlanta to get another one this week, hopefully. I have pulled the trans twice and the engine once this year in the blazer. Seems like i would just hit up the phoon next. I already know where all the bolts are. I think the transfer case scares me. Anyways, just thought i would come on here and post something. Have not been on this forum in a long time. Maybe if i ever get the typhoon fixed, i will be motivated to modding it again. If not, I might just put it into storage. Maybe get it painted and just let it sit and be pretty. I need to come and hang out with you, Joe. That should get me motivated again. Be nice to go out and kill all the cars in town even worse than i do now.

Come on up and hang out. Maybe you can help me figure out my TPI on my '63. I swear the wiring harness is 20 feet long!!! Just think i was just a carb away from driving it again and i got the bright idea to put TPI on it.lol I want to have it out of the garage and running before i start working on the Sy or Ty again. We need to have get all the Mid-Tenn. Sy/Ty together again. Kinda like what we did before in Rivergate. What do you think Jimmy? Steve? Anybody?

Yes, that is a good idea. I still try to send out random emails to people who i have met that have a sy or ty. I get a few responses back. These are people that you do not even know. Pretty cool. I need to see if my friend is trying to sell his 11k mile syclone again. I hope he still has it. Dad is trying to buy this sonoma gt in town, but the guy wants too much for it.
