Giving you the benefit of the doubt, let's say you did get a laundered title and never ran a carfax to check. Okay, I can buy that.

However, now that you know, understand that while it's a beautiful truck, you might consider adjusting your price accordingly. KBB (etc) means NOTHING with these trucks...VERY few Syclones can fetch 18k and with a questionable past, 13k might be pushing the limit. GLWS.

I understand that perfectly I really just want to get to the bottom of this title thing first
I never did a carfax and I am gonna say right now that the price is obo.

For all that questioned the title I talked to prior owner and what happened was one of the past owners got the truck stolen, filed it with the insurance company they paid it off to him and then the truck was found and given to the insurance company, when they took ownership it was given a clean title to Mr. Vanhoest who bought it from the insurance company, Since it was paid off and then found it was given a salvage title through carfax records.
Sorry for the inconvenience everyone

Its my understanding once it is a salvage/rebuilt title that is the way it stays. There is a reason they bring a fraction of the book value. Typically you mention salvage and people RUN away. I am one of those people. However, that being said I now own a Jeep Wrangler with a salvage/rebuilt title and it has been working great. I also paid substantially less than the asking price and plan on keeping it as my winter/bad weather driver. Its paid for itself in keeping the miles off the Sy and saved me tons of daily cleaning time. :2cents:
Nice looking truck though, GLWS.

I'm not afraid of salvage titles, as long as I can check the vehicle over very well in person. My main concern is when I got to sell it down the road.

Exactly, when I bought the Jeep I though "How much am I willing to gamble/throw away if it goes to hell?" So far so good.
Its funny though, when I asked the seller of the Jeep why it was "rebuilt" they claimed it was because of the lift kit and not the fender/door damage I found. Sellers say the darnedest things. :rotf:

My main concern is when I got to sell it down the road.

That title could be clear and edged in 24k gold but come time to sell, marked vehicles aren't worth much at all. Average is 25-30% under MARKET value.

When I first got the truck I looked it over for rust and any underside damage/frontal damage and never came across anything, your more than welcome to meet up with me and can go over the truck throughly, sorry about the title, did not think it would have been salvaged after looking at the title and seeing how clean the truck was.

Why are you selling it? (I mean, other than the crappy gas mileage) Just curious.

I have 2 other vehicles and just cant keep it financially, need the money and a cheaper vehicle better on gas, it lives mostly in the garage and it hasn't seen rain but twice since I have owned it. Puts a smile on my face every time i take it out. Hope that someone can enjoy it as much as I have.

I am sorry for asking on this thread, but how do I post about my Sy that I must sell. I looked around the site and I can't figure it out. I did want to offer my truck here before I went elsewhere to advertise. Any help would be appreciated as I have always had problems getting the most out if this site.

To all those interested in Syclone 2893. Info is as follows:

1. All information based upon National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) data for Sylcone 2893
in three states, PA - NJ - NC.

2. Truck first registered in PA on 03/13/92.

3. At some point truck was stolen, recovered, and reconstructed; damage included front bumper cladding and right front wheel well cladding.

4. In August, 2003, truck was moved to NJ for sale and listed by NJ DMV as "S" branded (stolen, recovered, salvaged, rebuilt); NJ DMV requires all branded out-of-state transfers to undergo enhanced inspection and complete repair prior to final titling and branding.

5. Syclone 2893 passed NJ anti-theft and full road worthy/ safety inspection; and on 09/17/2003 NJ DMV issued a new title with no brands or liens to a new NJ owner.

6. On 12/09/2010, Syclone 2893 NJ title was held, unregistered, by a NC dealer; and was then sold and titled (unbranded - no liens) to William and Boston Maler, Jefferson, NC.

7. CarFax, as reported by members on this site, listed this truck as having a "rebuilt" or "salvaged" title in PA. This differs to some degree with the NMVTIS records, especially use of "rebuilt" and "salvage" branding terms in PA reports as that state only uses "reconstructed" title branding and only uses "salvage" on certificates (but not titles ) for vehicles about to be broken up for parts. See page 76 in NMVTIS branding manual for PA branding; page 56 for NJ branding; and page 59 through 61 for NC branding.

8. Bottom line, CarFax reports for Syclone 2893 recommends a $350.00 reduction in current "Book Value" for the above
titling / branding problem and truck has had clear, unbranded titles from both NJ and NC for the last 8 years.
