Easy job.All you need is an air compressor, air fitting for the spark plug hole, flat valve spring tool, and some vitron seals.Air fitting-$14,valve spring tool- $10and vitron seals-$18.

Which valve spring compressors do you guys use for doing the seals in situ?
I presume the seals are the same size as sbc (11/32"?) viton on inlet and nylon umbrellas on the exhaust or does anyone use viton on both? That is as well as the old valve spring retainer square section o-rings of course.

Thanks for that, I wasn't sure how the Vitons would hold up over time on the exhaust with them tending to run quite hot on a turbo motor, although any seal on the exhaust is better than just the o-rings I suppose. I know Felpro used to recommend the 'Nylon' umbrella on the Exhaust with the vitons on the Inlets. I have a few sets (somewhere) for a sbc that I was thinking I'd use from. Its been a while since I looked at what I have, but I know I have some Felpros as above, some GMPP vitons and some Sealed Power/Speed pros from a tpi top end gasket set. I'll have to have a root around. I might have a go at making one of those Spring compressors, I've only ever changed seals with heads off previously with a 'proper' spring compressor , but I dont plan on doing that any time soon if I dont have to and I only want to do it once.

Sorry for late reply and to Supastar2 for the hijack, but its a bump and may prompt someone to volunteer their services for you. Thanks for the advice Dave, I will look into the other spring compressors, I know the ones you are referring to. The GM seals I have are 460483 they currently seem to sell for $10 each for some reason which is a bit steep, they cross reference to the Felpro SS72530, which have been mentioned in other posts on the subject, so I think or hope they are OK, I actually bought them for a Tpi 350 (another project).
