Hitting the overboost cutoff?

Check your WG rod to make sure it moves ok, and that the hoses are all intact.

don't think it is overboost due to the fact that it sputters when its not in boost

whats compression like?
whats cylinder leakdown percent?

haven't done a test yet .... but even if a cylinder was low it would not explain this intermitent problem

what is wrong with Denso Platinums .... and what wires should I use

I've used (sucessfully)

MSD
Taylor
Autolite Pro

Despite what anyone will tell you, the Autolites worked as well (and better in some cases) than wires costing 2x or 3x as much.

I have not personally had good luck with:

Accell (anything)
Magnacore
Jacobs

Plugs:

I've used AC CR42TS and Autolite 23s for 15 years. I've gotten 2 seasons out of the ACs,
racing heavily, with leaded fuel.

The NGK URs are ok too.

Bottom line, I've had the most success with the least expensive parts.

i have had problems with every wire except msd and every plug except ngk although i haven't used ALL the products mentioned above

having a similar problem with mine.Hot under boost(12psi and up) sputters/tach jumps and will backfire if I stay on the throttle. new UR5's,cap rotor, msd wires. It has to be ignition related due to the tack jumping so sharply and quickly. I was going to upgrade the coil to a MSD blaster unless someone has a better reccomendation and also change the disty module too. gota get it fixed, cold weather is coming and truck wants to enjoy inhaling it!
