Need Help , truck is freaking out

New Parts for Old Trucks
I recently had to swap my hydroboost unit out since it decided it was ready to throw in the towel . No big deal , easy r+r .

While it was out i decided to reroute some engine bay wires and to do that i needed to extend my tps and iac plugs .No big deal , one by one each was extended just a couple inches . Finally done looming and black taping everything , zipties here and there so it all looks good and figure lets get this pig rolling . Well no dice .
First attempt it did start up , but was running off with slight backfire . I was like wtf ... Close inspection revealed i swapped to pass side plug wires on the dist cap , so easy fix i put them back to the correct order . Now i start it up , it starts but will not stay running for more than a few seconds , then shuts off by itself .

After looking around in tp with key on , but not running i notice wb02 data was not being seen by the ecm . It was showing on the LM-1 controller , so i knew it was just a loose wire . I traced it back to the connection under the dash and wouldnt you know right where i had to squeeze my arm up for the hydroboost bolts , i had pulled apart a single butt connector . Thinking all was well , i fixed the connection and last night went to bed .

Thinking i was in the clear , today after work i decide to take the truck out for a spin .....

Now the truck shuts off and dies everytime i pull it out of park and attempt to drive , no few seconds of running , just as quick as i hit reverse from park it dies . I tried starting it in neutral and then going to drive , but same process over and over .

I have way to many things to finish before nats and this is a monsoon on my parade .. I did a datalog while starting and idleing to show whats happening , and even tried a few different bins while logging to see if maybe the bin was bad , but each time , over and over , the truck dies when i try to drive it forward or backwards .

I saw nothing overly obvious in the log, so i am here asking for help . Here is your chance to be my new best friend and save the day . My log is below , im open to all ideas ...

Re: Need Help , truck is freaking out

Checking my old logs , the iac counts were in line with the new log ones and im adding some fuel in the lower 400 range on my bin per advice i received . I now see where it was dipping down in that rpm band and the big differnce in numbers from 800 to 400 does look problematic . I will post up yes or no if that changed anything . Thanks .

Re: Need Help , truck is freaking out

iac is in the 60's at idle 875 rpm , seems to be as good as before now . the tune was still in progress when the hydro unit went bad , so maybe after all that it was just a loose wire . hell i dont know i guess thats how these syty devils work from time to time . at least now the thing moves without stalling .

good thing i only have to get it on a trailer to get to nats .lol

Re: Need Help , truck is freaking out

Given what you changed, I'd also look for a vacuum hose cracked or off.

What you did with the 400 RPM thing is fine, but it makes me wonder why the change.

One of the first things I do after I get the idle decent, is Idle - gear/Idle to reverse transitions. It's very normal to see some really lean spikes there, and that's where the die-offs usually come from.

10-15 minutes of playing with it in the driveway generally makes things a lot better.
You don't have A/C, but on trucks that do, I also do A/C on-offs and combo A/C on and park->reverse transitions.

If it passes those, you're generally good to go. If the coolant temps aren't too high from all of this driveway stuff, I generally do a few quick throttle blips in Park, watching the bubble and the AFR. If the blips show lean areas, I richen 'em up.

Verify TPS is correct with key off. Is the fuel doing odd things via WB?

Re: Need Help , truck is freaking out

When i was checking stuff with truck off but key on , i do see 0% tps no peddle , and 100% smashed down .
I did take it for a ride around the block and it feels like it did before . It has no get up and go , and feels like it has limited first gear . When im doing 20-30 and smash the gas it will boost up but not from a stop . Im not positive but i would relate the feel (i think) to having no first gear . I can drive it and go 80+ with boost and get that permagrin at 10-12 psi, but a big frown pulling out into traffic . I will do a tranny log in the morning and see what exactly the tcu is saying .

Edit , looking at tranny hooked up to laptop and key on :
0% tps on tunerpro = 9% tci tcu
100% tps on tunerpro = 85% tci tci

I have the tcu wired just like george b's diagram shows ,and on the tcu dash no peddle is 9 and i can watch it gradually go to 85 all the way smashed down. the rpm's match in tp and on the tcu if your wondering .
