Need some opinions.

So I'm stripping my front wheels today. (I might do the back, not sure yet, they still look great.) And its going good, two coats of the stripper and they are starting to look really well. I'm gonna grab a dermel or a highspeed tool and polish them up tomorrow or the next day.

The two things I'm iffy about are these; The "GMC" cutouts on the center caps, and the inlets on the wheels. Should I repaint the GMC red again or black or just leave them polished? (If polished I need to restrip them again.)

The inlets in the wheels. Should I leave them polished, or paint them black? I'm kind of going with polished on this because I like the look of the orginal non painted wheels.

What do you guys think?

Heres a pic I snapped from my phone, as I dont have a digy camera anymore (you can tell which one I've stripped already);

I don't think I would care for that.

Is that airplane paint stripper you're using?

Fully polished. Don't use a Dremel - it'll take you 17x as long.
Why do you say that? I can at least get them to shine alot more with a highspeed something vs my hand. I'm not to worried about the time requirements of it. I just want them to come out better looking in the end. Even if it takes a week to polish them.

Yes it is.

Adam, I can't get 11" 100 spoke gold daytons to clear the brakes. I've already tried.

Has anyone done just a polished lip like that before? If so, have any pics of them on the truck?

I figure its only paint. And I can restrip them if I dont like it. So it cant hurt to give this a try right. :)

Re: Need some opinions.

There's a local Sy here that stripped the wheels and kept them that way. They look really good stripped without repaint or polished. Check with Mark, he's seen them.

Are you asking if anyone has black wheels with the lip polished, if so yes, i do, I am selling the wheels to attackdog nesxt week, if you want pics i can look for some of the truck before i started taking it apart for the body and paint work.

Re: Need some opinions.

I like the solid black with just the lip polished, if someone has pics of the stock rims like that on a truck I would love to see it.....May do mine that way

Well i found a couple of pics, but most of the pics i had were lost on my old pc when it decided to take a shit on me. Back up back up back your files! But if you send me an email address i'll send what i have to you, none of them are great photos, some are post sanding and cladding removal and bed swap.

Re: Need some opinions.

Welp I finished these up the other day. I started out with Duplicolor black spray on caliper paint. But Autozone sold out of it. I searched 6 other auto stores and no one else had it. So I had to settle for using VHT black caliper paint for the back two wheels. Its a little different gloss in person. If you look hard enough you can see it. Which sucks. But on well for a test.

Sorry for the shitty pics, camera phone yet again.
