Need some opinions....

I dropped to back of the Phoon 2' yesterday with some blocks. In the process my right rear air shock blew out. The were pretty bad to being with so no big deal. The problem is, when they are deflated the back end is to low, inflated, the heigth is just right. I was looking at gettin the Bilstein HD's but am not sure where this would put my ride heigth. I'm thinkin of just gettin air shocks so I can adjust this. What shocks have you guys used and how has it affected your lowered ride heigth??

bilsteins (HDs or Sports) will not lower the typhoon. the lowering comes from the blocks, not the shocks. you can also use konis if you wanna spend more $$.

whatever you do, get rid of those crappy air shocks and that silly load leveler :)

I just found a hole in the driver rear air shock, so i'm buying a new one...will having one air shock and one regular shock affect my truck? I don't have the money for 2 right now.

yes it will drive like poo. do not do this. spend the $ and get 1 more regular shock. also make sure you pull the fuse for the load leveler.

X2 with Waller, in fact shocks should be replaced in pairs (front or rear) just like brakes. One side new and one side old (even the same make & model shock) can affect handeling. Maybe not to the point of being grossly dangerous but still will make a difference.

also don't forget you can lower your front end by turning the torsion bars to match your right height in the back if need be

Im actually testing the use of Toxic drop shocks as soon as the truck gets outa the shop on 2 inch blocks. They're pretty hefty shocks. My buddy has those on a 2003 Xtreme with a 5/4 drop and it hardly ever bottoms out.

Ill post results when they are installed. 39 bucks a piece out the door from Street Beat Customs, but im local so i didnt have to pay shipping.

Re: Need some opinions....

hey, I appreciate the information guys...will go out and buy the matching shock for the other side as soon as I get the money...I will put them on when the other arrives.

you don't have to buy high dollar shocks, look at a set of stock 93 blazer shocks
