I need some ideas on cam and head upgrades for my 5.3 crate twin turbo build? Or leave heads alone and just upgrade cam? I am told stock heads are very good left alone. Its a new 2000 crate.

cam push-rods and valve springs should net 50+ hp according to my engine builder. he said the zo6 cam is fine. Gm hot cams are a really good option if you want a more correct cam though.

The heads flow pretty good as is. prob not worth the money to get ported if you ask me.

I've had hot cam with a whipple but not the greatest great for F/I.
Lingenfelter cams are cheap and ok for F/I and easy to tune. ZO6 is not bad especially if it's reasonable.

Saw a gm performance dealer sell the hot cam for 130.00 new.

Well something ironic happened : I was at one of my accounts and on the mag rack was the november issue of super chevy main topic ls power for less and inside a 6 page spread 2 of which charts w cam info. It says to use stiffer valve springs so you won't hit valves to pistons! I called lingenfelter about the gt7 cam and they also recomended springs. The cam and springs a little over $400 from lingenfelter.
