I am selling my 93 typhoon I need your opinion.

Pros- truck has 57500 original miles

Interior is clean, paint in good condition, a/c works, truck is in very good condition all stock. Except for rims

Cons- has salvage title previous owner said insurance company did not want to pay for cladding to get repaired.

What should be the price? Tell me if I am way off

I think your price point (7k) is a fine place to start. In fact, with that kind of mileage and only cladding that was damaged, I might go $8,500.

I think instead of supporting low prices on these trucks, we (the Syty community) should encourage starting high, regardless of title history.

I agree with Baythan. Us rust belt people like those California trucks. I would add the salvage title to the ad will save you a lot of time and callers that will not purchase because of that. I would also state that you would be willing to help coordinate freight, that may help a buyer that has to ship it and may be nervous otherwise to ship a truck.

I would have started a little higher, probably around 7500-8000. I wouldn't budge much on the price, looks pretty clean. Only thing that makes it tough is that you can't show why it was totaled, most likely was the cladding since thats usually what gets these. Would make an awesome DD or something for a build.

Definitely up to to 8500 or even 9. If it's in great shape and runs good it should be worth even more than that in my opinion

I'd have put it at $10k and gone from there. That's just me though. Who knows, you might find someone who isn't aware what the current market is on these trucks and has more money than brains or research skills.
If you want a carfax on it, shoot me a PM with the VIN.
FWIW, if I ever go to sell mine and list it on Craigslist, I'm putting my starting asking price at $17k.

Missing the point with the salvage title.

When was the truck salvaged? There had to be a significant amount of damage to achieve "salvage." A few pieces of cladding is not going to warrant a salvage title.

So, for example the total loss is at 70% of the value, and the damage happened say, 5 years ago. That truck would have been worth $15k maybe?? Anyway just an example, $10,500 would be the damages, for cladding?

BTW nice truck and I think $7-$7500 is fair for a salvage truck.

As someone who spends a lot of time around wrecked vehicles, I think you would be really surprised at the minuscule amount of damage it takes for an insurance company to total a vehicle in many instances. People always throw out the 50/70/75% of value to total a vehicle, that's definitely not always the case. Whether or not it is true for this truck, damaging a couple of pieces of cladding could total one out, especially if you're not at fault and don't want to keep the vehicle as a result of the damage.
