I am in desperate need of a t-case input shaft for a 4l80 conversion,i have had 1 on order from RPM for the last 6 months and he still says that it wont be made until he gets and order for 10 or more, unfortunately I dont have the luxury to wait that long the customer wants his truck back and finished by the end of this month, any help would be great

Not that I know of for transfer case. If there is I would be interested to know which one as I get asked all the time to have more made up.

This might be your best bet...

http://www.transmissioncenter.net/4l80e.htm

#10A. Swap your 4L60E transmission to the much stronger 4L80E transmission with our new double strength case hardened output shaft and adapter kit. You can use the computer you have now on 1998 up models with the use of our #10X wiring harness. The transfer case you have now can be used as is and will be moved 1 3/4 to 3 1/2 inches to the rear. (WILL NOT FIT A 5 BOLT TRANSFER CASE) Cost $484.00

Hassles > Effort Chances are very very low.

Add in lets say we build 20 shafts @ $400 each. Thats ~$8k to cough up. Now if I take deposits, then people get anxious if the parts are not done ASAP. If I don't take $ ahead, well then your not sure if customer at end will actually buy it, and some shops want deposits.

Last time we have very little markup, honestly not enough as we lost $. Add in 2 shafts USPS so gladly kept as a tax, now how do I replace those?

So Hassles > reward

What ever it takes!!

If I only had specs on the shaft I wouldnt mind doing the foot work on producing these...or maybe a loaner to show.

Not rocket science, take stock shaft to machine shop with internal splining capability (not easy to find). Duplicate with 32 spline. Make splines a bit longer for more engagement if you want.

4X40 material hardened prior to final assembly.

Honestly I don't even have a drawing, i took them stock shaft, 32 spline output shaft and said here it is.

If you would have left the "I only post drunk" part out, it would have been a spot-on response but you added an excuse and then typed "no excuse" :dunno:

You must really be hosed.....

It's all good. I just take it very hard. My uncle laughed at my son one night when he was stammering and I was very upset about it. It' s been 6 months and I still won't talk to him. Not to highjack the thread.

Re: NEEDED! 4L80 to t-case input shaft

everybody that has one is keeping them

For good reason. I have one that I wont be using for awhile, and I am local. However I fear that if I let it go I would run into the same trouble Dan is having & wouldn't be able to replace it.

Thank you Dr. Phil for pointing that out.

Is there anything else that I have done wrong?
