Often imitated, never duplicated....

I smell lawsuit
Why?
Well isnt Typhoon already taken by GMC for a automobile name.
perhaps in the US, not AU.

morgan is right. ford motor company owns the rights to the typhoon name in australia, so gm can't do anything. if they brought it over to the us with the same name, then they might be able to pursue legal action.

Guess the general forgot about that market, anyways the car doesnt look that bad, except for being fwd.
The page says it's RWD. Looks like a pretty sweet setup to me. The Equinox, however, looks like butt. As for the Typhoon hovercraft, I think I remember that one. Didn't Tyco come out with one just like that? I think Tyco's hovercraft may have also been called the Typhoon. Thanks for taking me back to my childhood, Mike.

Yup, Tyco came out with one too. I had it and it was pretty cool but a little bit hard to manuver. That one pictured above looks exactly like the Tyco one so I think that company "TAIYO" might have been some kind of off shoot of Tyco. The "Typhoon" font is even identical.

Sorry for leading this post off it's original topic.

I have a neon green "Typhon II" hovercraft. I'm almost positive it's Tyco. I managed to flip it over once, which broke the fan guard, which broke the fan blades off. It's been sitting for years.

I never realized just how much it really is a Typhoon...

Plenty of better cars in AU. Moving there in January for at least 2 years. When I was there in Nov I priced a few Skylines and Silvias, and GT-R's can be found for about $25k AU, or around $18k US... not bad. I'll be keeping the Sy, but it is very unlikely ill ship it over with me.
