Have you thought about getting it shipped? When I got my last truck from Seattle it was around $900. You will be spending $400 in fuel, plus the plane ticket, and then whatever expenses you have on the road (hotel, food, repairs, etc.)
Just a thought.
Only problem with getting it shipped is then you are buying it without even seeing it in person.
tires are new, on the corvette wheels, the rotten wheels are on the stock rims i'll have in the back. I have not given him any money yet, and felt very uncomfortable buying it sight unseen. Shipping was around 1,000 from reputable companies, and plane tickets were only $133 to fly down, so i bought myself and a buddy a ticket, with the intention of bringing cash and driving it back, the seller has implied everything is perfect on this truck and he felt like i would have no problems driving it back. If i see anything wrong, i'll either walk away right there, or if it's minor, but worrys me about driving it, i'll have it shipped and just fly back.
Remove the orange elbow from the turbo inlet. With an inspection mirror and flashlight inspect the compressor wheel for bent fins.
Also remove the hoses from both ends of the plastic crossover. Inspect for cracks, or loose plastic that may break off and be ingested into the turbo. If you find cracks, or loose bits, cut them off.
Also pack a couple of "Jumbo" paper clips.
