Thanks My TY 1993, I forgot about the turbo T/A, I like those too. I guess there are a few cars from the 80's I like, of course I like the syty's too, but I just can't get enough of my old muscle cars, drive them any chance I get. It's funny, every time I stop at a gas station or a store, people come up and ask, hey where is the cars show at? I just say, I don't know, I am just running errands, they look at me funny and walk away. Some people just don't understand. Something else kinda funny, the monza that is my daily driver, it's a 76, I have period style wheels on it, old aluminum slots that were real popular back then but you don't see much of them nowadays, skinnies on the front and wide on the back, rearend is up about 2 inches higher than the front etc.. and it has a nickname from some of my friends, they call it "that 70's car" since I have things done to it that fit the period. I'm ate up with it, Larry.

Hey GM Turbo, sorry didn't see your reply, are you kidding about that? I really do have a 406 in it. I ran several 350's in it for years, decided to do a 400 this time around. It made 437 hp on engine dyno, put a muncie behind it with a 3.23 gear, (it's a driver) would have liked more gear but oh well, have to drive it. I even have the high beam headlights removed to funnel cool air to the air cleaner, old 60's trick. Even as it sets, with street tires it has ran some mid to high 12's at a shade over 110 mph. Just barely use 4th gear before the finish line. Of course being a daily driver it has some rust in the usual places and the roof has a crack in it from body twist, so it's a hoot to look at butt man it screams. I'd show you picks just to give you a laugh but I don't know how to post them. Anyway, I'm sure you get the idea, Larry.

Sorry my ty 1993, I just noticed the uploader thingy you stuck up there. I will have to have my wife check that out for me since I am not a computer person to say the least. I guess that allows me to somehow stick pictures up here? Thanks a bunch, Larry.

I'd have to agree that the gto really doesn't look that great. What is up with the major manufacturers doing retro. I am not a dodge fan, but have you guys seen the rumble bee  . I actually think it's cool and there doing more than gm is doing in H.P at the moment. Yes the old school cars are great.

I wish there were ignore lists on this board. Because EVERYBODY IN THIS THREAD (Minus Dave...he's cool) would be on mine.

:fist:

GTO is at the port in Maryland awaiting shipment to Germany. 17 days on the ocean...10 by rail down to Wiesbaden...and I'll be terrorizing the krauts with V8 RWD American motiviation.

Fuck the haters...each vehicle has its purpose...apparently my Sy's is to sit and be broken. I can deal with that...while I'm driving the first GM product that I wasn't ashamed to consider to buy (besides Vette...but that's out of my league).

GM TURBO

Sell Out
I was wondering how long it'd take for you to say something, Ryan.

I agree as far as the best thing outside of a Vette - with the exception of a full size truck.

Anyway, I hope it does work well for you. I was excited as hell when they were talking about it and I hope it does live up to the expectations.

The only thing I don't care for is the front end styling. There is going to be a huge aftermarket as it has a proven motor combo.

It is a Pontiac - there is no doubt about that. I just wish it would have been a little less Grand Am - and a little more Holden.

I agree. Some of the Caddy aren't too bad either, but GM sells too much junk!

I saw a GTO in person yesterday at the dealership and I didn't think it was that bad. I didn't think drop dead gorgeous, but I don't know what the commotion was about being so ugly. I would consider one. My God GM has made the GTP so UGLY!

TYRODD

My ass. Look at it.
Yeah, I think the GTO is uber pontiac, but, It definitly stands out. I could never mistake it for a GP or GA after seeing one in person. Like Ive said, that thing definitly moves, Its definitly not a disappointing car in my book. Theyre kinda growing on me, hmmmmmm!?

BTW, sigo, what is the GVWR on that thing? It could be Vega esq. Big engine/little car=FUN.

Hey Sigo, didn't mean to insult you. Everyone has there own opinion on the new goat, for me, I think it's a shame that pontiac couldn't build it on there own, they had to take a car over seas and then stick a badge on it. It does nothing for me, although I do like the motor, trans combo, GM still isn't getting any of my money for it until they make it look more muscular instead of looking like a toyota. If you like them, thats great, hope the new purchase works out for you. Larry.

far as it goes, if it makes you happy go for it's my vote. While I don't think it's exactly the best body style out there, guess what I didn't buy it while I may think it's not exactly the greatest looking machine out there what really matters is that you feel like you made the right deal.

I was gonna watch that just to see the Judge...but decided that it just wasn't worth sitting through a B- movie to see them probably do something sickening to a Judge (clone Im sure)...so how was it?

I mean it was pretty good to a see a car movie on tv, but you could tell that it was just on big commercial for pontiac, but it was still better then what was on tv.

Why does everyone bash it for looking like a pontiac? did they bash the GTo for looking like a tempest? maybe you could bash it for being a rebadged holden, that would be right on the money. I think it is great to see a pretty quick RWD sport sedan come out of GM.

To the complaint of the hobby being dead, thionk again, the ricers are the hobby now, sad but true.

to SS being the new factory rice, the new Impala SS out-handles and out-accelerates the "caprice" SS of 94-96, so why is it not worthy again?

GM is headed in the right direction, so i don't know why people aren't happy about that.
