New guy (Soon to be Ty owner)

Hey everyone, Chris here from St. Louis! I've been a car enthusiast since I could drive (4 years strong) and have owned quite a few recognizable cars in the industry, one that I still is my Galant VR4.

I'm actually in the process of trying to get Trick (Patrick) to sell me his other Ty so I can join the family. Make it look good and keep it as stock as humanly possible. Hopefully I can learn something from the community and even help make it grow a little!

If you're acquainted with the DSM (Diamond star motorsports family) then you'll understand I'm more than ready :rotf:

Re: New guy (Soon to be Ty owner)

Quick update, I am now the proud owner of 1190! I picked up the '92 Ty from Patrick (Trick) Saturday night and haven't looked back yet. Gave it a quick wash yesterday and a new set of brakes up front to get rid of that horrendous squeel :) Soon to come, interior fixes!!

Would anyone know why the gas gauge needle bounces around while the car is running (whether it be driving or not) and why the oil pressure gauge isn't working? It has the dual needle stops so I doubt it spun around....bad sensor I hope!

Thanks, yeah I've definitely been looking through some threads trying to get an idea, but I think the cluster is just going out. The trip odo doesn't work anymore lol

My odo diddnt work so i picked up a cluster from fivetodrive. it was real nice. i had the boost gauge delete on mine because with the 3bar map it is not accurate. get a aftermarket oil pres too, the list goes on and on

Once money becomes available again I'll be looking into another one. Oil pressure gauge has spun but I'm going to hold off on just pulling the cluster until I have enough to purchase one like his.....are they all brand new or just reman'd units? :dropjaw:

Driver's side window regulator, cleaned, and passenger rear blinker has been replaced. I need to get this thing licensed already, haha
