Well, after months of lurking, I finally created a user name and password. I am currently searching for a Ty/Sy to add to my collection. I frequent Silveradoss.com and Performancetrucks.net quite often. My 03 SS Silverado has consumed alot of $$$ and time, now it is time to give the 6 banger a try!

I am in Bangor PA and have always been a fan of the Typhoon and Sy.

I love it....and I'm sure Krambo would agree...

if I was to buy a new one...i would get a 2wd as I don't need the AWD out here in sunny Cali....

but its a serious truck... just hope you have a deep gasoline pockets...

it makes the Ty/Sy mpg look like a commuter car!

Re: New guy

Posi12bolt...Yea, I know you. God, with all of these forums to check in on, its a challenge to keep up!

I love the SS but didn't love the lack of out of the box power. Don't get me wrong, it was snotty stock,...I just wanted to compete with the Vetts and know that I can eat up the Lightnings on the street (thanks AWD). AWD was the selling point for me, I can turn sub 5 second 0-60's no problem (with tire spin). Turning mid 12's on the quarter in a street trim truck is cool as well. This year I will take off the heavy bed cover, use lighter wheels and should dip into the 11's with current mods.

Thanks for the PM's (you know who you are) and I should be able to get back to you in the near future.

Well,I'd need the AWD here in PA for the snow. What MPG does it get?
My 96 ext cab 4x4 silverado gets about 9/city and 12/highway,and it was recently tuned, has next size taller tires than stock, has a cap on bed,74,xxx miles, and I almost always have it in OD.
I won't be buying an SS anytime soon though,I still have like 20 months yet to pay off my silverado, then I was thinking of getting the SS,and maybe they'll be down in price to.Any certain years better than any another so far?
