Re: New here....

Hi nick the problem is that your motor is not built to cope with a turbo so while its possible to fit one i dont think your motor would last long if you did.:(

Re: New here....

Turbo is mounted on the passanger side towards the front of the engine. It will sit slightly higher than the passanger valve cover.

Re: New here....

The bigger issue is the ECM and fueling/timing the motor (SyTy have a different harness, ECM and intake manifold, fuel railing) and building up the transmission to hold the new found power.

Yes it will all fit. There is a entire write up I did on fullthrottlev6.com located here:

I'm going to finish the turbo install part of that with supporting pictures. You use HPTuners to dial in the Fuel and timing. It's a great program. We've had our 98 Jimmy turbo charged for almost 20,000mi. We run 10psi on pump gas with a totally stock engine with 160,000mi on it.
I'll bet it runs high 13's being a 4dr 4wd moose. It's a blast to drive.

Re: New here....

Pull the manifold off & replace it.

It broke my heart to park it again, but the Ty is in the garage while I work on pulling the manifold. Got another set getting cleaned up now. Oh, yeah. Nick, stock manifolds don't have that crack in it that mine currently does. :(
