New Jabsco pump, will not prime???

Installed a new Jabsco pump and it runs fine but it will not prime, hooked it up brown/brown and black/black, filled the intercooler and ran. The pump will pump for a second or so, burp air into the intercooler, change pitch, pump again etc etc. Is there an easy way to vent the air from the system?

It will probably take a while of running the pump and adding small amounts of coolant to work all the air out of the system. Are you sure you have the lines hooked up properly and without any kinks? When I did mine, I had to let it run for a while and add a little more coolant, but nothing funny like that happened...

I had the same problem and it took forever to get it to prime. With the old Shurflow pump it was no problem, but the Jabsco was a nightmare.

I think I had the best success by removing the intercooler and holding it up high, making the hoses as straight and vertical as possible (this obviously only works if you've already replaced the hard lines). Continue to add fluid until it primes.

Yes I have been fighting with mine for a while now. Tried all the tricks listed here on the board to no avail, checked for kinks many many times with none to impede flow.
On Ron's website he does say brown/brown black/black and this is how I have it currently, although one board member said brown/black brown/black. Very little movement in the IC and it is not doing a good job so far.

For some is seems like plug n play, i'm not so lucky.

Well for my particular situation, I just repaired it. Swapped the terminals in the connector which essentially would mean brown to black and black to brown. Pumps like a SOB now, intake temps 145degf in 95 deg heat.
