New member....again

Joined the site back in 2010 when I purchased my first sy #0032. Went through a divorce and had to part with it and have missed the sy everyday since. Just purchased my new project sy two days ago #1006. Truck has been sitting for 10 years, but is all there and not in too bad of shape after a good scrubbing. Who in there right mind walks past a syclone everyday for ten years and lets it just deteriorate.

So after I put a battery in it just to check what works and what doesn't, I bumped the starter just to see if the engine was seized and to my amazement it fired right up. So after changing the fluids this thing runs amazing. I think I stole this thing, I gave the guy 2000.00 for it. I will try to post up some pics later.

Congrats
$2000 ?! That's definitely a deal especially if it runs.

Rust? Post some pics

Re: New member....again

It definitely needs paint. Small surface rust spot on the roof. All the cladding is there. Small ding in tailgate. Brand new zr tires that are shot(flat spots). Drivers window motor is not working. AC blows ice cold. I think the guy I bought it from went to prison for the reason it sat so long. I didn't believe him when he said that It ran when he parked it but it does, and surprisingly well. The stock stereo is gone, but it has a decent alpine head unit with a changer. And as a bonus, I got a red hot chili peppers cd.

Re: New member....again

I feel like I should've bought a lotto ticket. Should I keep it black or change the color. I want to keep it black for originality, but since it needs paint I just don't know.

Re: New member....again

Try the Cyber Metallic Grey or whatever it is on the ZR1 Corvette. One guy just painted his 2nd gen Sonoma that color.

That color is amazing. I love that truck with the old school zq8 wheels. I had a dark blue zq8 a few years ago and I miss it I seen a pic of a sy that was black with the cladding that dark grey color. Similar to stock but looked really nice.

Re: New member....again

Thanks. I just don't know where to start. I want to make sure there is nothing major wrong before I start soaking some cash into it. I guess I will start by trying to figure out the rear end and then go from there.

Fantastic find! You could spice up the color being the original is toast. That dark met gray would look awsome on a Sy.

I'm liking that color more and more. Should I paint the cladding the same color? I seen a sy that was black and the cladding was that dark met grey and looked great too.

X2 on this. Paint the cladding the same color, but maybe just a matte finish like the original paint scheme. That grey is very appealing!

What's the miles and build on the truck?
If its stock good miles, repaint to black.
If modded, could be a huge number of color ideas.
