"Help" anything a veteran owner of a Sy/Ty could bring to the table. I am a GNX, GN and T-type owner, there are thing on Buicks that stand out like sore thumbs to me that wouldnt from a person that has never owned one. I hope that clears up things. :)

RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THE SYTY WORLD!!!!!!

They really aren't too bad, they are no worse than a woman, just alot of up keep. To me is sounds like you have a good base, first thing I would do is loose the KB boost a pump, for a Walbro, and get some more specifics about the following

Crane turbo grind Roller Cam & Rockers
Jimmy 2 Turbo (Brand New)
KB Injectors

They are fun trucks, I would suggest using the search button, probably every question that you can think of, has been asked multiple times before.

Overall the community is nice, we all get on a high horse from time to time, no biggy

Where do you live, I would suggest taking the truck to someone that knows how to tune a Sy.

Search button has been my friend.

As for the turbo from my understanding its a T-70

The injectors are 42.5's

working on the cam specs.

If and when I get the truck I will do the following in, Fuel pump, 50 pounders, Better chip......

Thanks

I would ask for pics of the undercarriage and look for rust. Some of those pics give hints of the undercarriage and kind of looks a bit skeptical. Paying that much, it should have 0% rust.

2 owner truck, always garaged and no winters. The pics had me worried at first, the owner assures me the truck is 100% rust free. I will inspect prior to pruchase.

The truck has mybe been driven few thousand miles since the build up 5 years ago, which worries me alittle and make me feel good at the same time. The owner has the boost set at 12psi  and has been that way for years.

what worries me, is he has said it needs a good tune for a long time, I don't care what kind of boost it has seen

I to was worried about that, the owner now has only put on 450 miles since he aquired it.

Another thing PM T-Bone, he may know quite a bit about the truck

Here's my guidance.....if you have the cash, buy the truck. You will never be able to replicate what he has done for $16,000 and it is well worth every penny. I thought my brother was going to buy it a month or two ago but he opted for an VW R32.

I bought a truck that sat for awhile. No big problems. Just taking care of the basic reliability mods so far like stated above. I've had to deal with a few leaks and the like just from being 16yrs old and sitting but nothing catastrophic.

Just a heads up.....if you are serious about acquiring this Sy, you might want to make a move before the end of May. I am pretty confident if someone doesn't buy it by then, it will be moving east to some degree.
