It's a custom Nolan tune with WBO2 patch applied. I hope I can figure out this lame IAC problem. Last time it did this, I just bought a new IAC and that fixed it, but this one isn't very old...agh.
Wasn't this tune setup for the old motor or the new motor?

No, I was using a Phil Long 50# chip and injectors before. I paid Nolan to tune this new build for me. He also modded the injector drivers in the ECM since I'm running 75#ers now.

No, because the TB worked perfectly when I took it off the original motor. Nothing has changed with it, unless spraying carb cleaner into it to clean it off hosed the IAC. It's idling too high. Anyone know what the best way to find vacuum leaks is? I always just spray carb cleaner around suspect areas with a cold motor. Is there a better way? If I can't figure it out, I guess I'll just order a new IAC.

A friend of mine uses a small bottle of propane with a little hose attached. He sprays it
anywhere a vacuum leak might be with the engine running and you can plainly
hear the engine change.....but I would guess the carb cleaner would/does the same????

:1010: Your taste in wheels is exceptional IMO. Wasn't sure how'd they turn out but DAMMNNNNN! Here's a pic of your oldies on my truck you asked about.

A couple weeks ago I had some business w/ dave outta san ramon and he used to have a sy (he painted his truck red). Dave recognized your old rims from a meet way back and thought I was you (happens more than you'd think actually). I told him to look under the hood so he knew for sure I was really me. Nice work!

VERY nice man  I miss those wheels, but it was time to move onto something different. Your truck looks fantastic, hope you're happy with them. So when's the next Sy/Ty meet?

Thanks. It's two 4" 90 elbows connected with thin pieces of steel sleeving inside. I sanded and deburred the metal pieces inside before connecting everything up. I also had to switch to an S10 radiator without the heater hose fitting for the elbows to clear.

I need an elbow like that... Where did you buy it?

Get in touch with Mike at RPM. He should be able to help you out.

Even though you say your stock TB was working fine with the stock motor your new motor needs much more air. It still might be something to look into

It's a stock throttle body that was ported out to 52mm and rebuilt with new bushings by a forum member. I sprayed every possible area at the top of the motor with carb cleaner this afternoon and there is no vacuum leak. Must be either something in the chip or another bad IAC. Will try a few more things before I just order a new IAC.

It's not a custom tune if you've only driven it once on that combo... or did it see dyno time?

I'm sure Nolan sent him a "start-up tune" to get him in the ballpark....

She's looking sweet man! Gives me hope of (ever) getting mine finished soon!

Re: New RPM Motor Pics - It's Coming Together

I drove the Sy to work all week and it's running better every day :) Nolan is helping me dial it in based on the DM logs I send him. The high idle and IAC count issue was fixed by adjusting the throttle stop (allen screw under metal cap). The motor just purrs now, I can't wait to uncork it. I've taken it up to 13.9psi and that's as high as it's going for a few thousand miles. I plan to break it in properly before switching to 100, turning on the meth spray, and cranking up the boost. The biggest kick is opening up the QTP exhaust cutout. Makes it sound like a big block and the turbo whine is super loud. There's plenty of tuning ahead, but it just feels so good to have the truck finished and back on the road.
