Just register tonight only had the truck 5 days, (all stock) except Borla exhaust and
K & N air filter,Changed plugs, wires, and dist. cap and fuel filter. Went to the track Sunday
1st run 14.1 @ 97 mph 60' 2.3, brakes would not hold boost, then I meet H-town Typhoon
and told me about the boost default thing
2nd run 13.69 @ 97 mph 60' 1.9
3rd run 13.68 @ 97 mph 60' 1.8
Now that a have a base line I guess it's time to start chiping away at that ET and 60'
And go easy on me :rotf:

Welcome to the board. Glad to see you already made it to the track. I've had mine for a year and a half and still haven't taken it. Looks like yours runs pretty good.

Get your self a scan tool and look at how the engine is running. It looks to be in the ball bark, but you might even have a few more .1's out of it.

Practice launching(lots) - .1
Bacl up an hit the brakes to readjust the rear brakes - .05 -.1
104 octane no-lead .05-.2
Paper clip to lock the converter- .1-.2
Pull the front cover off the air intake box(and tiewrap the filter in)-.1-.2
Make sure the WG is adjusted properly.
Rear tire pressure at 22 psi, front at 29.

With the above, you can probably run 13.2 or better. Given the good gas, you can probably add 2-3 degrees of timing at the dissy. (Don't try that on regular pump gas)
Might be able to see 13.0.

$0 cost. The biggest jump will come in launch practice. Squeeze to build boost, don't mash the gas to the floor.

My .02

Turbodig -mashing the pedal to the floor is exactly what I did LOL What is the advantage to Squeeze the pedal ? (I assume you mean like slowly build the boost)

I will definally try all the suggestion next time.
And first on the list is to get the scan tool. This is a whole different world than my Buick
I found out today that the truck is suppose to have a ATR chip in it but still have not looked, been to busy cleaning it. :D

Also bought the original rims for the truck today, but did not come with the center cap lock any suggestion on where to get one ?

Depending on what chip you have, mashing the pedal will dump a whole bunch of fuel into a motor that's struggling to come up to RPMs. Easing into it keeps AFRs down a bit.

This is where the practice part comes in... at most tracks, you won't have much time to do this.

My normal process:

Drive around the water box if possible. Build boost, do a quick dry-hop.

Immediately pre-stage. If they let you, stage. (Some tracks won't, if they use autostart on the tree)

If you're already staged, calmly drop the trans into N, and rev the throttle repeatedly while pushing the brakes down. 4-5 blips should be enough. Shift into D while still holding the brakes. Wait until the other guy prestages, then start your throttle squeeze. Leave on the first glimmer of the last yellow light. At 4900 RPM at or near the traps, shift into OD.

If they won't let you stage, or, if you're the only guy making the run (a bye, or broken opponent), you'll need to do the N-blip-D sequence fast. Your throttle squeeze will also need to be quicker than normal. You do have some time as the yellows advance, but it isn't much. The more you practice, the quicker you get.

FYI dont do a bunch of boost launches back to back if you don't want to be replacing your torq converter from excessive heat.

Southeast side of Houston, borders east of Pasadena if you know where that is.

What's your truck #? (last four digits of VIN). I didn't have Borla on my Sy, but the last place I saw it for sale was in Texas. (see sig for #)

Oh, and I never ran a 13.6. So, it's prob not my truck.

Re: New Syclone owner

I did check the ic pump and it is working , I found out it does have a pit bull chip 137A,
I am putting in a new HP fuel pump tomorrow ( I guess it's stock) , I'm having overboost problems with the new turbo hoping it may help me out ?
Once I get a scan tool I heading back to the track.

Def put a good fuel pump in.. most run a walbro 255

Check all your vacuum lines.. if there the factory hard type lines then replace them all with a nice set of silicone lines.. Especially check by the wastegate solenoid (on turbo) and by the map sensor (drivers side valve cover)

Also overboost can be caused by no enough restriction if you have the stock turbo the stock wastegate blows so if you remove or modify the exhuast some it'll overboost. ie delete cat or muffler

Also the atr pitbull street chip which is the 137a doesn't have the "first time boost limit" if I remember correctly.

Re: New Syclone owner

I got the 255l fuel pump ,already replaced all the vaccum line, with the install of new turbo, also install new boost soleniod

"Also the atr pitbull street chip which is the 137a doesn't have the "first time boost limit" if I remember correctly"

This is throwing me off from what I read also ,but it would not hold boost at the line till I got on it once, before running down the track. The chip did have Pitbull 137A on it , what are the chance it was burn back to stock ?

I would think that the chances of that happening are pretty slim.

You can use my pitbull if you want, no big deal.
