Hello ....My name is Bob and I just bought a Syclone and I need some help. The Exterior is an 8 to 9 out of ten...But the engine needs help. The previous owner was not too bright, Changed a lot of Stock parts to Bad running aftermarket parts and now I need to find someone near Tennessee to help me take the Syclone back to Stock....HELP! Call me if you know someone near Nashville - 615-591-0172. I don't want to race it...I want to drive it.

Re: New Syclone Owner

Thanks for the note....The engine runs badly and he added an aftermarket Turbo (Larger than Stock), a larger intercooler, a new ECM Chip to control the turbo, he removed the air conditioning and all heater and cooling controls in the interior.....He ran through three transmissions so he had a monster transmission built - He said it would withstand a lot of beating....It is guaranteed to be able to run for a drag car...I want to go back to Stock...this is a beautiful truck....Send me an e-mail and I will send pictures.....Radio1111@aol.com....Robert

What turbo is on there? I could trade you for my stock turbo if you want to go back to stock.

Re: New Syclone Owner

Welcome I live in Hendersonville. I am sure that will be able to help a little. Jimmy has sent you a message already and Joe lives just a few miles away from me. A couple of things to start off with would be a compression test on the truck. Just to make sure everything is ok. Then get new plug wires a good distributor cap and rotor, also new spark plugs. Then if it does not have new vaccum lines replace them. That would be a good start. It will need to be datalogged. If it is not running well you should probably not drive it until it is running better.

Re: New Syclone Owner

Thanks for the notes...I am in Franklin TN...The Syclone has new high quality wires, plugs etc....But after warm up....It idles badly, runs rough...It only likes to run when you spin it up to high RPM...I also hear a knock in the engine so I am assuming the worst. As I said...I want to return it to stock if possible but I need help getting it there.....It is a drop dead beautiful truck with a $10,000 Chrome Yellow paint job...It needs to have the air conditioner re installed as well....I need a good mechanic to help me get it done....Robert

I am about to pull the turbo and intercooler out of the truck...I will let you know the brand a info on the turbo but I know it is an upgrade from the original and according to the previous owner, it spools up faster than the original....It runs like crap but it spools up fast.

Re: New Syclone Owner

I wouldn't take the turbo or intercooler off the truck unless you know thats the problem. You'd probably benefit from having an aftermarket turbo and an A/A intercooler (assuming that's what you have because it's the most common aftermarket IC) Most likely it's running like crap due to other things and I'd start with those first.

BTW- Welcome

Re: New Syclone Owner

just because it has "high performance" stuff on it donesnt mean its going to make it run good. search around and get the CORRECT plugs and wires and a cap and rotor. and make sure you dont have a vacum leak. and then data log it and post up what you find

Re: New Syclone Owner

I agree, find out what the real problem is before yanking the parts off. Unless you just want a stock truck, but being yellow it really isn't stock anyways at this point so why not leave the aftermarket parts on (assuming they are good) and figure out why they are not working and engine running like it should.
