Hay I'm the new guy to the clan, I heve been to the sight several times and I finially had time to join. Now to the question, I am installing a new, timing chain ( a cloys or comp) on my totally stock 92 ty with about 75,000 miles and was wondering if it was best to install the cam at 0*, +4*, or -4*. I will be puting vortec heads on it some time soon if that has any thing to do with it. Thanks in advance guys.

unfortunatly it's hard to say where you should put the cam in bc your exact combo will be different from almost everybody else. it really comes down to where you want your power band to be. most ppl want to raise it up bc these motors make so much torque down low. and run out of gas above 5k rpms.

I usually set them up at 0. but on my truck I run it 4 deg retarded, but then again with the belt drive it only takes me about 30min to change it.
