Just thought I'd stop in and say hi. Just found the boards, and enjoy learning about the competition :D

They're great looking trucks, unfortunately I don't see many around here.

Talk to you later..

Never seen a Grn/Gray in Columbia..

Anyways, how do you guys like your GMC's? The L is my first truck, which I've only had for 6 weeks. I come from a long line of Mustangs, guess I was just ready for something new..

HiYa! Personally, I love my Syclone. Bought it new and to this day I'm addicted to it. Guess alot of it's in the launch? :D Also you don't see them everywhere like the Gen2 Lightnings. I liked my L much more back in '99 as they were somewhat rare. Never thought SVT would pump up the production numbers and build tens of thousands for years on end. :-? Now I see 'em everywhere...

I've owned a handful of cars/trucks since I purchased my Sy which have come and gone. Even the vehicles I own now, if I could only keep one, it'll be the GMC. Unless, of course, it really pisses me off. 0X

Heh, coming from a Mustang GT, owning # 4026 from '02 is the epitome of exclusivity to me :)

I had heavily weighed the idea of going with a nice, low mileage Syclone, I guess the age factor kinda scared me off. They're awesome looking trucks though, I just wish there were more around..

After it's all said and done, there's no better sight than a 16 year old kid in his Honda, getting dusted by a truck :p

Thanks Ty0279. Cooler air and low humidity really helped for my first time at the track w/ the truck. I couldn't get better than a 2.046 60ft, so hopefully with the obligatory chip/pulley/filter and some traction, mid 12's can be had.

I'm trying to take it slow w/the modding, at least make a couple of payments before snapping a driveshaft :)

Hey welcome to the board...I am a fan of the L's. A friend of mine is on his second L now. The first one he had was an 01, I guess it didn't like that daily hard driving cause it sucked a valve. But he is happy with his Sonic Blue 03. The L's are nice trucks fun to drive.
I guess i am lucky since I have a Typhoon, and a 97' Cobra. I have had a few other mustangs as well. But I love both my Ford and my GMC.

Welcome and pay no attention to sigo cause as of right now he's grumpy cause his sy is kinda on the no-go list.

Nice L btw. I like em and am glad the local ford dealer sold the black one that sat on the corner of the lot. Every time I went by going to work I had to fight the urge to stop and look at it/drive it/buy it.

Thanks for the welcome, that's a great combo you've got in the garage! Have you ever stopped by www.svtcobraclub.com? Some nice folks around that way..

Thanks! You made a good choice on holding out of the L, just wait a bit until Gen 3 hits the streets. Yeah, I figured sigo had a bone to pick, and I was the most convenient target. No big deal though, I'm a big boy.. 8)

Welcome. I like L's also. I just bought a new ford. Not an L, but it get's me to work and it can tow the Syclone when it break's (and the sy seems to be broken alot)

You need to find a track that hooks better! Your L has at least another 10th in the 60'. I've managed mostly 1.9's and a few 1.8x's with my stock F1's. That alone could quite possibly make your stock L a 13.30 truck! ::thumbsup::

Josh,
The Lightnings are pretty strong at highway speeds, thanks in part to gearing and a decent powerband. Of course having the aerodynamic profile of a brick doesn't help much :)
